On November 15, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) captured Hazm, Kikiyah, al-Arfa and Rabdah villages in the northern Hama countryside, according to Syrian pro-government activists. However, these claims are yet to be confirmed by an official source.
Back on November 14, the Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced that the SAA captured the villages of Hasnawi, Qasr Shawi, Muwaylih Shamali, Mhassar, Rabiah, Hamra Silos and Mhassar Hill.
Meanwhile, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a announced that HTS recaptured Sarha village and Sarha hill in the northeastern Hama countryside. Iba’a claimed that HTS fighters killed three soldiers of the SAA while storming Sarha village.
Moreover, Iba’a reported that HTS fighters destroyed a tank of the SAA with an ATGM around Hazm. HTS fighters also targeted a gathering of the SAA soldiers around Hazem with an ATGM killing or injuring several SAA members according to Iba’a.
The recent development in the northern and northeastern Hama countrysides suggest that HTS is not capable of fighting on multiple fronts anymore. According to Syrian opposition and pro-government sources, HTS lost most of its elite and armored units during its failed attacks against the SAA in the northern Hama countryside in 2017.
