US Military Presence In Baltic States Violates Key NATO-Russia Agreement - Russian MoD

FILE IMAGE

The US military presence in the Baltic states violates a key NATO-Russian agrement, the Russian Defense Ministry said on October 12.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said that “contrary to all the statements of NATO and the United States about the ‘insignificant’ amount of troops being sent to Russia’s borders, now it is not a brigade that has been deployed, but a mechanized division of the US Armed Forces, where in two hours, prepared personnel can be transferred from the nearest American base in Europe (Ramstein, Germany).”

The general refered the fact that while the US 2nd Armored brigade arrived in Poland, vehicles of the US 3rd brigade still remains in the country.

Konashenkov added that the ongoing media campaign over the Russia-Belarus military drills “Zapad-2017” is a media operation to cover the growing US military presence.

“Amid the Zapad-2017 military exercise, the ‘rotation’ of the US 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team under the Operation Atlantic Resolve plan was held in Poland and the Baltic states. All the equipment of this brigade — 87 M1A1 Abrams tanks, M109 Paladin howitzers, 144 Bradley Fighting Vehicles and around a hundred other vehicles — must have remained there. The personnel of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team must have been replaced by the servicemen of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team in order for the NATO-Russia Founding Act not to be violated,” he said.

Earlier in October, the NATO launched a multinational force to counter Russian presence in the Black Sea. The force is to be built around a Romanian brigade of up to 4,000 soldiers, supported by troops from nine other NATO countries. It’s going to complement a separate deployment of 900 US troops who are already in place. Romania and Poland are the biggest troop contributors. Bulgaria, Italy and Portugal will participate in regular exercises with the force.

Really? It’s unimaginable that RF could put missiles at Konigsburg & NATO wouldn’t react.
RF analysists must recognize by now that Trump is return to regular policy after weak timid wimpy Obama.

John Mason

Another misguided fool, you must be looking forward to be non existant.

Kennethllindsy

Sorry comrade, but RF economy is weak and Putin is looking to make deals to get out from under sanctions before elections 5 months away.
RF wants Crimea, but everything else is up for being traded away. Including Syria & Assad.
Putin just sold a big chunk of Idlib to Turk for price of an S-400 the Turks don’t need.

Alexey Kozyachiy

You are an idiot. He did not sell anything. He invited Turks to fight against the US proxies (YPG/PKK or whatever) to secure Syrian victory. US-led coalition and Israel wants to partition Syria. That was their goal from the beginning.
Looks like you failed to realize that there is a new major player in the middle east and that’s RF. ( Saudi King’s Moscow visit is a proof to that). After ISIS is gone there will be fight agains US proxies.

Kennethllindsy

RF Selling Idlib to the Turk will be remembered as a crime against Syria just as selling Hatay to the Turk by the French.

Ps.Turk never leaves. Just ask Cyprus 42 years later.

Solomon Krupacek

turkey also want partiton of syria.

putin invited also yanks. stupid man in cremlin …

Alexey Kozyachiy

LOL. Independent Kurdistan for Turkey is the biggest nightmare. What are you talking about? Putin invited US and the global leaders to fight international terrorism, (not to partition Syria) that’s it!!! What reality are leaving in?

Solomon Krupacek

no. turkey will annex kurdistan. togetehr wit idlib and north aleppo. or only part of kuristan. and after that can tell at home: kurdish gipsies, you have already own countra, leave turkey.

zman

Yeah, that’s why he’s admired around the world…that’s why Assad is still there. That’s why the US/Israeli proxies are crapping down both pantlegs. Yeah, he’s stupid. It’s idiots like you and your troll buddies whose opinions that don’t matter that spew this kind of garbage. You’re wasting your breath and your bosses bandwidth.

Solomon Krupacek

putin does not like assad. this told several times. look at videos on youtube.

btw., putin will only latakia, where are russian bases.

John Mason

I am not your comrad. Yank? Your comment verifies you as such. For your sake you hope you don’t look as stupid as your comment.

Kennethllindsy

Putin now is totally at mercy if Merkel, who could reduce energy purchases from RF and destroy RF economy.
So RF can bluster but everyone knows it is just hot air.

Jesus

Russian economy is not dependent on natural gas sales, or that is what Mc Cain thought?
Markel is going to look at the bottom line between LNG and piped natural gas. Her choice is easy.

Kennethllindsy

Please spend a few minutes studying RF economy.
You will learn it is dependant on O& G sales.
When Merkel says jump, Putin asks how high.

Jesus

I am fully aware of the Russian economy, natural gas sales make up 14% of their exports.
“””When Merkel says jump, Putin asks how high.””” It is ok to be delusional, it is the byproduct of the left ideology; some conservatives describe liberalism as a mental illness. I tend to agree with them.

Kennethllindsy

According to Business Insider, “68% of Russian exports are from oil & gas.”

Now, if Putin’s plan is to threaten one of its biggest customers – like Germany, then it’s a really bad plan.

Jesus

I am sorry you read stuff and you do not understand what you read, let me break it up for you:

Russia is the 16th largest export economy in the world. In 2016, Russia exported $282B and imported $180B, resulting in a positive trade balance of $102B. In 2016 the GDP of Russia was $1.28T and its GDP per capita was $23.2k

The top export destinations of Russia are the Netherlands ($29.3B), China ($28B), Germany ($21.3B), Belarus ($14.1B) and Turkey ($13.7B).

Solomon Krupacek

the nato is 25-30x stronger then russia, go to the hell with your stupid numbers., you export raw materials and weapons. none of them elevates the life niveau of russians. you have no normal car, electronics, etc… every year you sink more and more behund the developed countries.

Jesus

LOL, how is NATO 25-30 times stronger than Russia? Give me facts instead of contorted delusional nonsense.

Solomon Krupacek

google is your friend. check the economical data. russia is not developing. only stagnationa, and the modern countries accelerate.

Jesus

And what exactly are EU economic indicators?

Jesus

Besides being a grand mitocan, your delusional stupor is the result of you being willingly ignorant. The GDP growth (according to the European Commission) for 2017 for EU zone is expected to be 1.7%.
Russia’s GDP increased 2.5% year on year in the second quarter of 2017.

Krupacek, nu if mitocan de clasa.

Solomon Krupacek

low level economi 2.5% < high economy 1.7%

btw., after big fall 2.5% is still be in minus :DDDD

AMHants
Solomon Krupacek

and?

zman

He can’t…such bullshit is only from him and his troll buddies.

AMHants

Hahaha, and really?

Russia has the most powerful Forces on the planet, for a fraction of the cost of NATO. How what GDP do the NATO nations spend on their NATO Contract and which nation has weapons and systems, working, that are not at least 2 decades old?

https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0ea3733a2f59508351c97c56ecc2783dbdd9b0f1bd1bbced197ec45e5cf16d3a.jpg

Solomon Krupacek

so big bullshit, that i will not argue against this falsfication

Kennethllindsy

Dominions Cove Point LNG will be completed soon.
The field price for natural gas in Pennsylvania & West Virginia is only about $1 per mmbtu which enters the interstate pipeline system at Dominion North or Dominion South and will go directly to Cove Point from there, for easy LNG shipment to Europe – including Germany. Much cheaper & closer than the Chenniere LNG plants on the Texas coast.
Current Gazprom Natural Gas price for Germany is over $5 per mmbtu.
We have thousands & thousands of shut in natural gas wells in PA & WV waiting completion of Cove Point to flood EU with LNG cheaper than RF Gazprom prices.

Jesus

The Russians have the edge in adjusting their prices to stay copettitive.

Kennethllindsy

Russians can’t compete on scale with US once we build out our LNG trains under construction in US & Canada.

AMHants

Will they need to use the Chinese One Belt and Road infrastructure? Or will the trains arrive at the US and Canadian borders, with nowhere to go?

Solomon Krupacek

chinese one nelt is nowonly utopia.

AN IF will be built, then this will be the death of russia.

AMHants

How many centuries have they been saying that? Yet, Russia still stands big, strong, intelligent and independent and in control of her 11 time zone nation and natural resources. So refreshing.

Kennethllindsy

“LNG Trains” refers to the LNG processing facilities not the shipment of LNG by rail.
Currently LNG ship building is like oil tanker fleet on the 1950s. Now 45% of world’s oil travels by tanker, but only 13% of Natural Gas by LNG ship.
LNG shipping rates are falling and only a small part of LNG contracts.
The main area of growth in next 5 years will be global building of more LNG trains to process LNG and more receiving plants.
US has a 600 year supply of Natural Gas.
UK is building a $20 to $40 billion nuke plant because Obama refused to sell Cameron natural gas. Obama was owned by Nuke Power industry since he was a senator.

zman

And of course there are no shipping costs either, huh? You know minor things like cost of the ship and crew, fuel and insurance. Not to mention transit time. You need a course in economics.

AMHants

Not forgetting the US Navy and shipping lanes. How many Aegis Destoyers have they lost this year, unable to navigate in the deep, deep seas? Can you imagine it, US LNG tanker in collision with an Aegis Destoyer and both get written off?

AMHants

Riddle me this, but, is it cheaper to provide gas direct and through pipelines or ship it all over the world, via old and stagnant tankers?

Now why would the nations of Europe wish to purchase gas that is at least three times what they are paying at the moment?

Nord Stream 1 or US LNG?
Nord Stream 2 or US LNG?
Turkstream or US LNG?

Solomon Krupacek

th eu WILL make diverification. will only 30-35% gas from russia.

Kennethllindsy

You have to look at SCALE. Natural Gas will be dominant global energy source for next 75 years.
Qatar, US & Australia have huge Natural Gas Reserves and are building multiple LNG facilities.
LNG Contracts are typically for 25 years.
What we are seeing is the breakup of linkage between Natural Gas Prices and Oil Prices.
As more LNG facilities are built, processing & shipping costs will continue to become more competitive with pipeline prices.

AMHants

So is it cheaper to provide gas through a pipeline or send old and stagnant tankers, through the seas, bearing in mind collisions with Aegis Destroyers and badly trained crew, laden with gas and triple the costs?

25 years – do you really believe that European nations are so stupid they will accept a 300% rise in energy prices, whilst the US tries to balance it’s energy prices. Supply and demand, so comes to mind, and Russia has been a loyal supplier for decades.

Kennethllindsy

It’s not a 30% rise. LNG will soon be cheaper than pipeline as processing and shipping costs continue to fall.
And expect those 25 year contracts & oil/natural gas linkage to disappear as LNG Trading Markets (Nymex etc )have now been opened so you can buy and trade LNG Futures.

It is a rapidly developing multi $ trillion industry that is the global future of power generation for next 75+ years.

AMHants

Hahaha, around 3 decades. Russia has plenty of gas and has been the supplier for decades. Why on earth would Europe want a 300% rise in the price and change of supplier. Somebody untested and have they actually got enough supplies?

Personally, I will change energy suppliers if mine tried to flog US LNG, owing to the lives lost as blood gushes through my pipes.

Kennethllindsy

LNG is a global market, US us only minor supplier so far but thats going to change very soon.
Expect costs to build LNG trains to only be about 1/10th current turnkey prices once Asians (China, South Korea, India etc) begin mass producing them now that global market us being built and LNG futures are being traded.

You spend about 5 to 7 cents refinery cost for gasoline today; in 5 years processing & shipping LNG will be about 5 to 7 cents per mmbtu/mcf.

That’s how capitalism works to SCALE up an industry.

It’s inevitable.

AMHants

Like I say, prefer Russian energy to any on the market. Something to do with respect of the nation and don’t want blood pouring through my pipework. There again, do not want spirits haunting my home, to remind me of what they sacrificed in order for me to keep myself warm and do some cooking. Guess that is why I am boycotting all products from the globalists.

Kennethllindsy

Natural Gas is a fungible commodity, so it’s really going to depend on what region of which country you live in. Almost all Western Europe Natural Gas will be LNG very soon.

AMHants

Gosh, I bet your last job you were a cold call, double glazing salesman. Getting bored of the 5 D media disinformation script. Deny, Discredit, Discourse, Derail, Disagree.

Ronald

Exactly where did Putin threaten Germany ?
A professional troll , you twist words so skillfully .

Kennethllindsy

Missiles at Konigsburg are a clear and present danger to Germany.

AMHants

Business Leader – Rothschild publication.

Didn’t Saudi and Obama believe that Russia relied on oil/gas for at least 50% of their GDP? So off they trotted and tried to manipulate the oil markets. Now how did that work? Bearing in mind they so got it wrong, with regards Russian energy and GDP. Plus, Russia can cheaply produce a barrel of oil, as prodoction costs are in rubles. However, what did it cost the US to produce a barrel of shale? How many US oil companies went bust, from 2014-2017?

John Mason

You’re killing him/her/it with facts. Go easy…..

AMHants

Haha, I am taking it easy.

Solomon Krupacek

he lied

John Mason

Go away Solomon, you are desecrating the page let alone the site.

Solomon Krupacek

blablabla

John Mason

Thought you were a monkey but sheep will do.

Solomon Krupacek

the costs are mostlx in dollars, because the technology is western, not russian. only salaries are in rubel.

AMHants

Darling, production costs, where the materials are purchased in rubles and manufacturing costs, are covered by the ruble and not the $USD. They then sell the product in $USD. Russia can produce a barrel of oil for $2-3 rubles and then you have transport costs, so say under $20. How much does it cost the US to produce a barrel of shale? Hence so many US oil companies took a hit, from Obama and Saudi coming up with that trick.

Kennethllindsy

— After FED began rate raising process in summer of 2014, rig count dropped from 2000 to 460 and 140 oil companies went bankrupt.

— 68% of RF exports are O&G.

— the GDP of Texas is larger than GDP of Russia despite RF having 5x population than Texas.

AMHants

GDP – you mean what comes in? Then you have GDP Debt – meaning what comes in, after you have remembered your bills need paying.

The Creditor nation Russia, there GDP Debt is around 19%, meaning that for every $100 they earn they pay $19 for their bills and retain $81. Guess this allows them to provide healthcare from conception to birth, to their citizens and also free education, including University levet.

The World’s largest debtor nation, the US, there GDP Debt runs around 109%. Meaning that for every $100 the US earns, she still owes $9. No doubt, that is why the people have to pay for their own healthcare and education. Another sign, the Russian middle class sector is on the rise and the US middle class sector is on the decline. The same in the UK.

Sorry, what were you saying?

zman

I have to laugh when people go on about ‘liberalism’, as if there is such a thing in the US. Look to those that started all this world wide crap and then tell me about ‘liberals’…Reagan, Bush1, Clinton, Bush2, Obama..now the Orange Buffoon. If you believe Clinton and Obama went actual liberals, why didn’t they counter anything done by the other lot? They were as bad, if not worse. NDAA, Syria, drones, proxy terrorists. All neocon projects, just like Patriot Act, Homeland Security, TSA. Just because they might call themselves liberal, doesn’t mean they are. They are all Zionist/neocon criminals. The repugs mentioned called themselves conservatives…largest budget increase, military black holes, tax cuts in war time, tax rebates to major corporations(2001) going back to 1985. Conservative? No, criminal liars and Zionists.

Jesus

Part of the left is made by zionist/neocon criminals.

Solomon Krupacek

he is stupid neocommie fanatic. sanatorium is his optimal home. :)

Jesus

You are a big time moron, deluded from realities and truth.

Solomon Krupacek

i see, i hit the goose :DDDDD

zman

Aah, yes the intelligent argument.HAHAHA

Solomon Krupacek

no, diagnosis of you :DDDD

zman

You’re the one who needs to do some studying. Russia has diversified it’s economy into more consumer production. Russia also has near zero debt and an expanding economy. The US is on life support and Europe is being killed by the sanctions on Russia and may decide not to follow the US into oblivion. I hope Poland takes the US bait and goes with LNG shipped over from the US…that should just about put a nail in their economic coffin. The Germans will be laughing all the way to the bank, buying cheap Russian energy.

Kennethllindsy

Merkel is finished. Expect Germany to become more nationalist and begin to rebuild their Army.
Putin has lit fire for return of German Military after 70 years.
Congratulations.

zman

Congratulations? For what ? Your delirium?

Solomon Krupacek

all right, teach us, and write exatly these diversification. also with numbers, hiw many % is better, etc. if you do not, you are only fibber squaw.

Judging by your comments, it is quite obvious that you just climbed out of the trees. You need millennium in time to get yourself to our level. So go and play with yourself.

zman

If you believe that the Russian economy is weak, then what is the US economy? Where you get the sanctions hurting Russia, i don’t know. Even the European govs are saying that they don’t work and don’t hurt Russia as much as Europe. The rest of your comment is ridiculous and so far from any truth as to be indistinguishable from piss poor US propaganda. But, that’s the crap you’re paid to say, however stupid. The poles and the rest of the NATO cock suckers sound like the Kurds in Iraq. Waa Waaa. We’ll see how effective these forces are when Russia deploys more Iskanders to Kaliningrad. Then we’ll hear from the idiots following the US to oblivion cry about how illegal it is. Boo Hoo. The other fools following the US/Israeli lead, the Kurds are bawling because Iraq seems to be reading forces against them…they were warned, but chose to follow the Zionist plan which is going to be their downfall. They are all getting what they deserve. You need to take your phony ass crap to Breitbart, they’ll swallow your crap, no problem. Stooge.

Kennethllindsy

Texas has a bigger GDP than Russia despite Russia having 5x the population.

Russia has many natural resources, an educated population, and is capable of technical advancements; but economy is relatively weak compared to what is possible.

There’s no bonus trying to bully the EU or Nato; and Ukraine is an utter basket case – a complete water of time and money.

zman

God, you’re full of shit. I live next door to Texas. It’s BROKE. They can’t even keep the lights on because their infrastructure is fucked and the water in Dallas has to be trucked in because the fracking has screwed their water tables. My neighbor is a Texas refugee, he had to sue the state of Texas for payment for the work his company did on I-59. If there weren’t a half dozen military bases in Texas, they’d already be bankrupt. Russia is recovering yet from the severe fucking that ziocon criminals did to it, trying to steal Russian resources…but they are on the way up, not down…as the west is. The only bullying is being done by the US/NATO..look at their prize monkey, Ukraine..whose fault is that? Maybe Nuland can bring more cookies…they’ll be needing them.

AMHants

No, it is OK. I visit the Duran, enjoy the articles and then copy and paste the links. I do miss the banter, as the comments were informative, polite and refreshing, apart from the odd troll. I think it is malware programmes that made me persona non-grata, as certain groups want to completely shut down different points of view. Plus so many others found themselves in the same situation. At one stage, I could not access any Disqus site, not even non-political, which was strange, but nice that the complete block was not permanent. Again best wishes and take care. Much ado about nothing.

What is one brigade, a division, in the light of the military build up Russia has done the last few years in western Russia?

The small dutch army is happy to share the burden by stationing a small fighter wing in the Baltics, have some small forces in the Baltics and Poland and partaking in exercises both on land, sea and air, all within Nato territory.

Now that the new government is finally investing in upgrading effectivity of present sytems and introducing new systems the next decade or so, we are happy to support the independence of the Baltic countries and Poland and Nato in general.

Other countries within Nato will do the same and together we will keep Europe safe against adventurism, from any source.

Alex

What independence imho, you are all pretty much occupied and under a thumb.

Real Anti-Racist Action

If Russia truly felt their rights were being violated by the Zionist owned and run west, then Russia would sell or give away S-400 system to Lebanon, Syria Iran and Korea.
Till this happens, I will never believe for a moment that any anti-Russian activities are going on.
Or else a logical entity would counter it in the most serious defensive manor.
