On Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued its advance towards the T2 station in the eastern part of Homs province near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

The SAA and its allies surrounded Humaymah village west of T2 station from the western and southern sides and cut off the road between Hmaymiyah and the T2 station, according to pro-government sources. The SAA destroyed several ISIS vehicles and VBIEDs during its advance. SAA soldiers also captured an ISIS fighter.

From its side, the ISIS-linked News Agency Amaq claimed that ISIS fighters repelled the SAA attack west of Humaymah village. Amaq added that ISIS fighters launched a counter-attack on SAA positions west of Humaymah, where a VBIED targeted a gathering of Syrian soldiers.

Amaq also claimed that ISIS fighters killed several Syrian soldiers and destroyed 5 SAA vehicles. Furthermore, ISIS fighters seized a vehicle, a 106 mm artillery piece, and a Kornet launcher with several Kornet missiles.

ISIS fighters began withdrawing from Humaymah village and T2 station to Al-Mayadeen city in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to pro-government sources. The T2 station is only 69 km away from the strategic Al-Bukamal city and 45 km away from the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Meanwhile, ISIS continued putting pressure on the SAA north of the Homs-Palmyra highway in the province of Homs. According to Amaq, 17 SAA soldiers were killed as a result of an ISIS SVBIED hit a gathering and the followed ISIS raid in the Shaer fields area.
