The Syrian army has seized a major weapons factory belonging to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian al-Qaeda branch) in the Western Ghouta region of the Syrian province of Rif Dimashq, according to released photo and video evidence.
The factory was used by terrorists to produce mortar shells, “hellfire cannons” and improvised explosive devices. The government forces seized it as a part of the operation aimed to liberate the town of Khan al-Shih, controlled by Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and its allies.

Interesting video but it doesn’t impress me. Essentially they have found an engineers work shop. Wow. Milling, turning and general bench top activities. The fact they were making mortar rounds is interesting, but I thought it was going to be a place where they were making bullets. That would be an impressive find. Bullets are a bit harder to make. I think the firing cap is the toughest part. Especially making bullets that work at the rate of fire required for the AK47. Without bullets they are not up to much.
They get bullets from turkey. Way easier to have Gulf states / America handle buying and shipping, turkey to help deliver simething yiu can move A LOT of.
the mortar rounds, hell cannon rockets/rounds , and all the explosives required for those and suicide bomber trucks. it can also be considered ‘bonus’ material you can add to the pile of goodies you already get.
Besides,
You might not want to be traveling great expanses with such volatile and powerful explosives, anyway.
