The Syrian Su-24MK frontline bombers with variable sweep wings have started to use the OFZAB-500 high-explosive fragmenting incendiary aerial bombs against terrorists, the Vestnik Mordovii information website reported, citing photos, appeared in Syrian sources.

The OFZAB-500 is considered one of the most powerful bombs in an arsenal of attack aircraft. It has a unique capability to destroy enemy manpower and light armored vehicles. In addition to debris and blast wave, high-temperature incendiary field also liquidates targets. So, in fact, this bomb is thermobaric or vacuum.

The Su-24MKs can use such bombs both at a relatively low altitude about 300 meters, and at a height of 20 km, reaching a maximum flying speed up to 1200 kilometers per hour at the same time.

In Syria, this weapon is used solely to strike military targets – units of international terrorists.
