North Korea has plutonium for creation of 20 nuclear bombs by the end of the year, the Al Jazeera TV-channel reported, citing a Stanford University professor, an expert on nuclear weapons, Siegfried Hecker.

The professor substantiated his assessments by an amount of extracted plutonium in North Korea. According to Hecker, today North Korea produces 45-60 kg of plutonium per year. But, if necessary, the production can be increased by an additional 6.5 kg.

Will remind, North Korea held nuclear tests in honor of the anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) that caused a great resonance in the world. An underground explosion of a nuclear bomb was so powerful that seismologists of neighboring countries recorded a strong earthquake of magnitude 5.3. Almost all neighboring states have condemned the nuclear tests, held by Pyongyang. However, recently it became known that China is ready to help find a solution to the problem of nuclear tests in North Korea, but, at the same time, opposes unilateral sanctions against the country.
