On the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces are 2–3 km from Kramatorsk, where Ukrainian troops are preparing to defend a city now almost completely without power. On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces are destroying encircled Ukrainian troops in the northeast, have advanced near Goptovka, and have captured Malaya Volchya; they repelled a Ukrainian attempt to break out of the encirclement near Chornoye. On the Dobropolye direction, Russian troops are fighting in Annovka and on the southern approaches to Dobropolye; Russian forces have taken the highway from Belitskoye and brought Zolotoy Kolodez under control. On the Sumy direction, fighting is underway near Kondratovka, Andreyevka, Pisarevka and Ivolzhanskoye; Russian forces are pressing Ukrainian defenses near Kiyanitsa and Khoten.
Slavyansk-Kramatorsk direction
Fierce fighting continues near the outskirts of Nikolayevka. There are still no clear consolidations on the ground; the “gray zone” remains. Meeting engagements are also underway in the area of Vasilyevskaya Pustosh. Ukrainian troops are counterattacking from the direction of Kramatorsk. The forward positions of Russian forces are 2–3 km from the city limits of Kramatorsk. Ahead lies Belenkoye, the largest private-sector settlement.
In addition to the main advance, the task of Russian troops is to close the “pockets” between Nikolayevka and Pervomaryevka in order to strengthen the overall line of advance. This is the most convenient axis for entering the city. Geographically, the terrain in this sector is a flat plateau; further on lie the multi-story blocks of Stankostroy and Sotsgorod. As a result of Russian strikes, Kramatorsk is today almost completely without power. Russian forces have destroyed the bridge over the Kazenny Torets and are working to cut other logistics routes linking the western districts with the eastern ones.
Ukrainian troops continue to operate through the forest areas near Dibrova in the direction of Yampol. In Ozernoye the presence of Ukrainian units persists. The situation along this axis remains tense; at the same time, open data do not yet allow one to speak of the formation of a new stable line of contact.
Dobropolye direction
Russian troops continue fierce fighting in Annovka and on the southern approaches to the city. They have taken the highway from Belitskoye and have expanded the gray zone north and northwest of Dobropolye. In the village of Dobropolye, Russian troops are advancing along the pond toward Nadiya. They are also clearing the area of the mine and the pocket between Chernigovka and Novy Donbass. Clashes also continue in Sergeyevka and Gulevo. Inside the city itself, Russian aviation is striking staging areas and shelters with glide bombs. Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that Zolotoy Kolodez — the last major village on the Gruzskaya River, from which its forces can push north between Kramatorsk and Belozersk — is now under Russian control. Near Novoandreevka, troops are holding a bridgehead on the northern bank of the river.
Sumy direction
Near Kondratovka, Russian troops are repelling attacks by Ukrainian units on the western edges of the village. Slightly further south, fighting is underway for a sector with a gully near Andreyevka. In the area of Pisarevka and Ivolzhanskoye, fighting for the forest tracts continues. Ukrainian units still capturing the heights in the forest, which significantly complicates assault operations by the Russian army, since there are approximately 15 km of open terrain to the forest area — a fact the Ukrainian side exploits by controlling the ground with drones from fairly well-protected forested heights.
On the sectors of the “North” grouping’s advance in Sumy region, fierce fighting continues; the situation is without significant changes. Ukrainian units have taken no active actions and have concentrated on attacks against the civilian population of Russia’s border regions.
In Sumy district, Russian assault troops continue to press Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Kiyanitsa and Khoten. In Sumy region, a mobilised soldier of the 106th Territorial Defence Brigade, Nikolay Venediktov, shot three of his fellow servicemen who were extorting money from him at a permanent deployment point and then shot himself. The brigade command attempted to write everything off as combat losses, but the relatives of the killed men publicised the incident. In Shostka district, heavy small-arms fighting is underway near Tolstodubovo and Ulanovo. In Krasnopolye district, Russian units advanced near Stepok.
Kharkiv direction
On all sectors of the front in Kharkiv region, fierce fighting continues. Russian units are destroying the remnants of the encircled Ukrainian forces in the northeast of the region and advancing on other directions. The Ukrainian side is concentrating forces for new counterattacks.
On the Liptsy direction, Russian assault groups advanced 300 meters near Goptovka. On the Volchansk direction, Russian units captured Malaya Volchya. There is progress in the areas of Polnaya and Petropavlovka. On the Veliky Burluk direction, Ukrainian units of the 159th Separate Mechanized Brigade, in two combat groups on foot, made another attempt to break out of the encirclement near Chornoye and failed. As a result of comprehensive fire strikes, more than 50 percent of the personnel were destroyed; the rest withdrew to their original positions.
Separately, Denmark plans to send Ukraine a $276 million aid package in response to an incident involving a Danish helicopter and a Russian ship in the Baltic Sea, public broadcaster DR reports, citing Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus. On Tuesday, Rasmussen said the Danish Foreign Ministry would summon the Russian ambassador over the alleged release of “false heat targets” near a Danish helicopter in international waters off Gedser. The ministry provided no evidence. DR reported that the Foreign Policy Committee had approved the package, worth 1.8 billion kroner ($276 million). Asked whether Moscow might see the move as provocative, Rasmussen said: “Well, let them.” According to Bruus, his Ukrainian counterpart had earlier asked Denmark to fund weapons produced in Ukraine, including ballistic missiles and drones.
