A bomb blast hit a police station in the city of Cizre in the southeast of Turkey in Sirnak province that borders both Syria and Iraq, and has a largely Kurdish population. As result, 9 people were killed and 64 others were wounded, Reuters reported, citing hospital sources.

According to unconfirmed reports, three police officers were among the victims of the explosion.

As the NTV TV channel reported, the blast completely destroyed the police station. We can see destroyed buildings and ambulances, rushing to the scene, in photos and videos, coming from Sirnak province.

According to initial information, the explosives were planted in a car.

NTV also reported about other less powerful blasts, occurred at an arms depot nearby, where several buildings were damaged.

The Anadolu news agency and other local media have blamed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) for the blast.

Undoubtedly, Turkey’s reaction on the blast will follow already today, including the territory of Syria, where the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) are already exposing to shocks. Last night, Turks continued to shell Kurdish positions south of Jarablus. There also were clashes between Syrian ‘opposition’ and Kurds near Jibreen.

Kurds occupy a contradictory position, being in no hurry to leave the territory, occupied with the US-led coalition assistance. If Kurds begin to persist in this matter, the US will be put in a very awkward position, and Turkey will deepen its involvenet in the Syrian war.

Reports appear that at least a Turkish mechanized infantry brigade is currently deployed in the area of Jarablus, as well as Turkish ammunition and weapons are delivering in the city for further operations in northern Syria. It is supposed that Jarablus should become a main rear base of the Turkish Army and Syrian ‘opposition’ to carry out operations in the direction of Manbij and al Bab.
