Desperate Ukraine Urges UN Agency to Block Russia’s Rassvet Satellites

Ukraine’s foreign minister announced on August 28 that Kyiv has formally asked a United Nations agency to block a Russian satellite communications system from operating over Ukrainian territory, arguing that Moscow intends to use it for military purposes.

Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine submitted a formal note to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Radiocommunication Bureau through its Permanent Mission to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva.

The request seeks to exclude Ukraine’s national territory from the declared service areas of all Rassvet satellite networks across all frequency bands, according to the minister.

“The purpose for Russia to use such satellites over the territory of Ukraine is absolutely clear and it has nothing to do with civilian purposes,” Sybiha wrote on X, adding that Moscow intends to use the system to support its military effort.

Sybiha called on international partners to support Ukraine’s position and take measures to block Rassvet from functioning over their own sovereign territories.

Rassvet is being developed by the Russian firm Bureau 1440 as a domestic alternative to SpaceX’s Starlink. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, firm plans to launch 292 satellites by 2027, when the system is expected to become commercially available.

The system is already providing limited operational capability. Tracking data from the N2YO service indicates the Russian satellites pass over Ukraine four times a day, providing at least two stable “communication windows” daily, each lasting over an hour.

The Ukrainian complaint reflects the desperation and panic in Kyiv from the Russian Rassvet network, as the ITU has neither the technical capability nor the legal authority to stop the project.

my inferior species americunt anuz blocked by mulatto jizz last night—

the narrative

crocodile tears will not save ukraine now. zelenski should be more concerned with future war crime tribunals. all possible support from the un membership will evaporate like a patriot missile supply near kiev.

Rob

unfortunately the war crime tribunals i feel is just wishful thinking. as long as the zionist mafia maintains any sort of control in the west, those war criminals will be protected, and worst case scenario will be repatriated back to the criminal and terrorist safe-house israel. history has shown zero prosecutions of these people and has shown them fleeing to israel even if slightly investigated. history also shows (eg: dancing israelis, epstein) anyone caught is released to go home.

Scaathor

is there anything more arrogant and stupid than the banderite clowns of the kiev regime?

Peppe il Sicario

stupid j*w, stupid is!!!!

kotromanic

well why not if at the same time starlink is blocked over russia and belarus as well es iran, iraka and lebanon.

Peppe il Sicario

shhhh! don’t say something obviously logical that’s beyond the mental scope of most people today!!!

whatajoke

starling should have been shot down long ago

protectourfreedumbs

musk and thiel should have been taken out as international terrorists.

The Iceman Cometh

starlings and most all birds are god’s gift to the world. starlink on the otherhand is the devil’s gift to ukraine.

klaaskeesrand

how is the “un” able to block those signals i am wondering, if i as an unschooled pleb am capable of downloading actually receiving radio signals from so called “decommissioned” weather satellites, the fact that they are decommissioned” doesn’t stop me as well it confirms that they have no ability to turn the recording and broadcasting off from down here… this can be different on other satellites tho but for now…

protectourfreedumbs

gutierrez could be sent up with a bag of spanners to turn them off.

protectourfreedumbs

firing that joo co**sucker gutierrez into outer space would be a smart move.

The Iceman Cometh

he could use them to open up the span between his ears and give his brain a shot at recovering.

if he used a wrench, he might manage to wrench some courage into his soul.

both outcomes good and both made in china anyway. same tool, just change the label.

its like with the tankers. he wants to outlaw them and then sanction the countries who provide materials or parts for it as well as try to use them themselves.

The Iceman Cometh

looks like an act of desperation to me. merz though insists it’s an act of inspiration. funny coming from a fellow whose career is nearing expiration.
