In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian units captured a large fortified area east of the Verkhnyaya Tersa River covering more than 12 square kilometers and established control over Lyubitskoye, creating conditions for further advance. In the Sumy region, assault groups of the “North” advanced on eleven sectors up to 700 meters, while the Ukrainian side began replenishing its units with personnel from support battalions. In the Kharkiv region, assault detachments of the 71st Guards Motorized Rifle Division captured Verovka, executing an eastern envelopment of the Bely Kolodez area and cutting it off from the main forces. In the Kupyansk direction, Russian units are fighting on Krasnaya Street and expanding their presence on the eastern bank of the Oskol. Meanwhile, according to Politico, the Pentagon will step back from its leading role in the Ukraine Security Assistance Group.
Zaporozhye direction
On the sector from Primorskoye to Stepnogorsk, Russian airborne units continue to push through the Ukrainian defense. Efforts are underway to detect and eliminate small groups that the Ukrainian side is attempting to move into Primorskoye and further south in order to consolidate on previously lost territories.
Drone operators are targeting firing points, drone launch sites, shelters, and equipment of Ukrainian units across the entire depth, extending to Zaporozhye and the opposite bank of the Dnieper. Russia’s Aerospace Forces are providing support to assault groups, conducting airstrikes on Ukrainian facilities in Zaporozhye and nearby localities. In particular, two mobile fire group positions and four drone crew positions were detected and destroyed in the coastal zone from Belenkoye to Kanevskoye.
During intense and prolonged fighting, troops of the Far Eastern units captured a large, pre-prepared Ukrainian defense area totaling more than 12 square kilometers, clearing over 500 structures. The capture of Lyubitskoye expanded the bridgehead of the “Vostok” grouping on the eastern bank of the Verkhnyaya Tersa River and created conditions for further advance on this sector of the front.
Sumy direction
Assault groups of the “North” grouping continue to push deeper into Sumy region. Strikes were carried out against concentrations of personnel and equipment of Ukrainian units in the areas of the city of Sumy, Esman, Stukalovka, the villages of Sadki and Korenyok, Malaya Rybica, Zhigaylovka, and Krasnopolie.
In the Shostka district, firefights are ongoing in Ulanovo and on the approaches to Volnaya Sloboda. In the Sumy district, Russian assault units advanced on eleven sectors, with a total advance of up to 700 meters. Firefights continue unabated in Ryzhevka, Pisarevka, Marino, the settlement of Khoten, adjacent territories, and in forest areas south of Ivolzhanskoye.
In the Krasnopolie district, a Ukrainian assault group from the 119th separate territorial defense brigade attempted to infiltrate toward Russian positions east of Bolshoy Prikol. As a result of fire engagement, part of the personnel was eliminated; the rest retreated.
Kharkiv direction
Russian assault units continue offensive operations in the settlement of Kazachya Lopan and adjacent forests. Aviation and rocket artillery of the “North” grouping struck Ukrainian reserves in Karasevka, Makarovo, and Shapovalovka, eliminating personnel from the 475th separate assault regiment.
In the Volchansk sector, assault units of the “North” advanced on nine sectors up to 400 meters. Firefights continue in the village of Ivanovka, the settlement of Bely Kolodez, in Baksheevka, near Shevchenkovo, and in the forests of the Volchansk district. Assault units of the 71st Guards Motorized Rifle Division pushed composite groups of Ukrainian troops out of Verovka and established control over this settlement.
Verovka is located at the head of the Karaichny Yar ravine, one kilometer from Baksheevka and six kilometers from Novoaleksandrovka. One kilometer to the south runs the railway and the T-21-04 highway. With this maneuver, assault groups are executing a deep eastern envelopment of the Bely Kolodez area, cutting it off from coordination with the Ukrainian defense node at Prikolotnoye – Olkhovatka – Veliky Burluk. They are also reaching the watershed ridge of the Plotva and Khotomlya rivers, bypassing the Ivanovka – Ustinovka defense line from the south, and preparing a staging area for further offensive development to the east and south.
The Ukrainian side attempted to break through to Bely Kolodez, which is surrounded by Russian forces, but the movement of personnel was detected on the distant approaches to the line of contact—the infantry was eliminated by FPV drone operators and artillery crews.
In the Velikiy Burluk direction, Russian assault groups continue firefights west of Petro-Ivanovka, as well as in the villages of Ustinovka and Aniskino.
Kupyansk direction
The main fighting continues in the western part of Kupyansk, as well as on the eastern bank of the Oskol River. Russian units are fighting on Krasnaya Street and gradually expanding their presence in certain areas of the urban area. At the same time, clashes continue on the eastern bank, where no significant changes to the front line have been recorded. Claims by the Ukrainian side regarding the capture of Kutkovka have not yet been objectively confirmed and require additional verification.
Conclusion
In the Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kupyansk directions, Russian units continue to exert systematic pressure, expanding their control zones and inflicting losses on the Ukrainian side. In the Sumy region, the offensive on a broad front and the Ukrainian side’s difficulties in manning units are forcing it to deploy personnel from rear-area support units to the front line. In the Kupyansk direction, heavy fighting continues in urban areas; the initiative remains with Russian forces. The Ukrainian side is attempting to counterattack and infiltrate with small groups, but these actions do not change the overall situation.
According to Politico, the United States will cease to play a key role in the Ukraine Security Assistance Group. The Pentagon will step back from its leading role in the US-led command, based in Germany, which coordinates military aid to Ukraine. This decision could affect the effectiveness of future deliveries and the coordination of support for Kyiv from Western allies.
Leadership of the Group will pass to another NATO country. According to sources, this process could take up to a year, but cooperation with Kyiv will not cease. A Ukrainian official told the publication that there are concerns about the reshuffling within the Security Assistance Group due to the possible slowdown of weapons deliveries. No one will be able to replace American satellite intelligence and the logistics capabilities of heavy-lift aircraft, he added.
