Russian and Ukrainian forces continued their daily exchange of strikes overnight July 13, focusing on port logistics, military energy infrastructure and storage facilities.
Strikes on Ukraine
According to Ukrainian reports, Ukraine came under attack overnight by 134 drones and three Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles, aimed at ports in the Odesa area. In response to the blockade of the Sea of Azov, Russian forces reportedly carried out precision strikes for the first time using Geran-4 jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with homing systems against commercial vessels alongside quay walls.
A bulk carrier, a ferry, and a seiner were hit in the port of Chornomorsk. Russia’s Defense Ministry said it struck port infrastructure in Chornomorsk used for unloading and storing military cargo and fuel, including storage tanks, loading gantries, a pumping station, an ammunition and missile depot, and a container traffic control facility. The ministry also said two Ro-Ro ferries, a container ship, the Shostka collection vessel, and a floating dock used to store unmanned underwater vehicles were hit.
A strike on a substation in the village of Khmelnytsia left 61,000 subscribers in Chernihiv without power. In Kharkiv region, a series of Tornado-S strikes hit crossings in Staryi Saltiv, while NASA FIRMS satellite data recorded heat signatures at a boat station reportedly used by Ukrainian forces for crossings.
Explosions were also reported in Dmytrivka and Petropavlivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, where fires broke out. In Sloviansk, a gas station and a fuel truck were hit. According to Ukrainian monitoring sources, Russia expanded its launcher deployment, with the number in Oryol region rising from 100 to 1,000 in June 2026.
Strikes on Russia
While Russian strikes have focused on military logistics and Ukrainian supply nodes, Kyiv continues to target civilian infrastructure, a pattern that regularly results in civilian casualties.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defenses destroyed 342 Ukrainian drones overnight over 15 regions, with the main attack concentrated on the Moscow region. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said 81 drones were shot down or suppressed. In the settlement of Pionersky in Istra, three people were killed and three injured when drone strikes caused fires in five houses. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that about 300 drones were heading toward the region during the day, 45 were intercepted before reaching Moscow, and another 350 were detected overnight without reaching the capital.
The port of Kavkaz in Krasnodar region was also attacked, and the regional emergency headquarters confirmed a fire at the railway station infrastructure and fuel storage area. In Stavropol region, drones hit the Mikhailovskaya oil depot in the village of Vyazniki, the second attack on the facility in a week.
In Enerhodar, a Ukrainian drone struck a bus stop and a car, killing four people. In the Lutuhyne district of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Ukrainian forces attacked a scheduled bus running from Stakhanov to Moscow, injuring two women.
NASA FIRMS data also detected fires in the Sea of Azov, which may indicate strikes on three tankers. Russian sources said they had thwarted a large-scale FPV drone attack on the Ukrainka and Shagol air bases.
