In the direction of Novopavlivka, Russian units are fighting on the eastern outskirts of the city, attempting to dislodge Ukrainian troops from the heights and eliminate the “pocket” near Bilyakivka. In the direction of Kostiantynivka, Russian assault troops have captured Stepanivka and captured strong points on the approaches to Yablonivka. They are advancing toward Dovha Balka while simultaneously eliminating the wedges between Berestok and Ivanopilila. In the Zaporizhzhia area, Ukrainian forces attempted to break through to Novohryhorivka and Verbove but were repelled, suffering losses in equipment and personnel. In the Sumy area, assault groups from the “North” grouping advanced 350–500 meters and struck concentrations of Ukrainian troops in Zhadove, Leonivka, Myropillia, and Yastrebyne. They also destroyed a drone warehouse in Sumy. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troops advanced in Vovchanski Khutory. They repelled attempts by the 15th Border Detachment and the 57th Brigade to cross the Vovcha River. Russian troops also advanced in the Lyptsi and Velykyi Burluk areas. Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico reported that he presented satellite images to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, confirming that the Druzhba pipeline on Ukrainian territory is undamaged. He is seeking the resumption of Russian oil transit.
Novopavlivka Direction
In the direction of Novopavlivka, Russian units are conducting combat operations near the village. According to available information, assault groups are attempting to dislodge Ukrainian forces from the eastern approaches to the village. The main difficulty lies in the presence of a “pocket” controlled by Ukrainian forces east of Novopavlivka. This area is covered by the heights north of the settlement along the riverbank. North of Solone, Ukrainian units have held a powerful defense line at a short distance from the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region. This line has supported Ukrainian troops for the past year.
The situation in the Bilyakivka area remains complex. Russian units have not yet reached the dominant heights amid ongoing fighting for Novopidhorodne. On the southern flank, Russian troops are trying to advance between Ivanivka and Novopavlivka. They are gradually capturing tree lines from which Ukrainian units previously launched attacks.
At the same time, the threat of large-scale Ukrainian counterattacks persists. According to Ukrainian statements, their mission is to push Russian troops out of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Such attempts are already being made in the neighboring Zaporizhzhia region, and similar actions in the Novopavlivka area cannot be ruled out.
Kostiantynivka Direction
Russian assault troops have pushed Ukrainian units out of several strongpoints in the fields between Berestok and Ivanopilila. This eliminated a large wedge in the direction of the Kleban-Byk Reservoir. The technical school to the north remains in a “gray zone” for now — infantry groups from both sides are operating within its borders.
Units of the “South” grouping have captured several tree lines on the approaches to Illinivka, opening the way further north toward Kostiantynivka. However, it is premature to speak of full control over Illinivka; assault groups are still fighting in the village.
Meanwhile, Russian troops have taken control of Stepanivka and captured strong points on the approaches to Yablonivka, where Ukrainian units were present until recently. Forward assault groups are advancing towards Dovha Balka, which must be captured to advance to the northern outskirts of Kostiantynivka.
Nevertheless, Ukrainian units continue to attempt to infiltrate Yablonivka. Drone operators destroy most of the personnel, but some ultra-small groups manage to reach the H-20 highway. Nevertheless, they do not significantly impact the course of the Russian offensive.
In light of the deteriorating situation of their units, the Ukrainian command has deployed additional drone operators to the Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka areas.
Zaporizhzhia Direction
In the northern sector of the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian forces are continuing their attacks. The Ukrainian command is using information obtained by deploying small assault groups on foot and in armored vehicles.
Footage of the fighting in Novohryhorivka has appeared on Ukrainian media outlets, which claim that Russian units have been completely pushed out of the Dnipropetrovsk region in this sector. However, the reality is different. Ukrainian units did burst into Novohryhorivka in armored vehicles and temporarily pushed Russian troops back from some positions. After the armored vehicles withdrew, Russian assault troops approached the Ukrainian- captured house and destroyed it with grenade launcher fire. Therefore, despite the depth of the breakthrough, Ukrainian units cannot be said to control Novohryhorivka. Individual Ukrainian soldiers remain without supplies and are unable to control the “grey zone.”
A similar situation occurred in neighboring Verbove, where Ukrainian troops had previously entered on armored vehicles. Later, drone operators of the “East” grouping destroyed the armored vehicles, and the village was re-cleared.
On the western flank, beyond the Haichur River, heavy fighting continues. Ukrainian units are counterattacking in the direction of Rozhdestvenske, and footage has emerged of vehicles passing through the village toward its eastern outskirts. However, the timing is questionable.
Against the backdrop of world events, the Ukrainian side needs to demonstrate some successes. For this purpose, they use archival footage of the most successful armored vehicle breakthroughs. The command is not concerned that assault troops may not survive a week.
Sumy Direction
In the Sumy direction, Russian assault groups are engaged in intense combat as they advance deeper into the area. Russian aviation forces and strike drone operators attacked Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in Zhadove, Leonivka, Kucherovka, Myropillia, Yastrebyne, Bitytsia, Khrapivshchyna, and south of Volfyne. A drone warehouse was destroyed in the regional center of Sumy.
Russian assault troops advanced on seven sections in the Sumy district and on two in the Hlukhiv district. The total advance over the day amounted to up to 350 meters. In the Krasnopillia district, the “North” grouping’s assault groups advanced 300–500 meters, consolidating their positions and expanding their control zones in adjacent areas. Fighting is ongoing on the outskirts of Mala Korchakivka in the Oleksiivka sector.
Kharkiv Direction
In the axis of Vovchansk, Russian assault troops advanced up to 300 meters in three areas: Vovchanski Khutory, and south of Hrafskoho. A group of Ukrainian border guards (15th Border Detachment) attempted to cross the Vovcha River in the Mala Vovcha area once again, but they were destroyed by army aviation.
The extent of the losses incurred during these attempts is illustrated by an event held in Kropyvnytskyi by the widows of Ukrainian 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade servicemen. The women held up banners displaying photos of approximately 1,000 soldiers from the 57th Brigade who went missing (were killed) in 2025 while attempting to cross the Vovcha River in the Vovchansk area.
In the direction of Lyptsi, assault groups of the 11th Army Corps advanced up to 400 meters on four fronts towards Vesele.
In the Velykyi Burluk area, Russian troops broke through the defenses and advanced up to 400 meters on four fronts. Crews of heavy flamethrower systems struck the 1st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade’s positions in the Shevyakivka area.
Conclusion
In the direction of Novopavlivka, Russian troops are gradually advancing despite the difficult terrain and the presence of fortified lines. They are clearing tree lines and threatening the flanks of Ukrainian units. In the direction of Kostiantynivka, Russian assault troops are approaching the city from several sides by eliminating “pockets” and capturing strongpoints. The active use of drones by both sides shifts the focus towards an “unmanned war.” In the Zaporizhzhia area, Ukrainian attempts to break through with armored vehicles are tactical and result in the destruction of equipment and personnel without achieving stable territorial control. In the Sumy area, the “North” grouping is systematically expanding control zones, striking rear targets, and replenishing the prisoner exchange fund. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troops are repelling attempts to cross rivers and advance in forested areas. They are also destroying personnel and equipment, which is leading to significant losses among Ukrainian units and protests from their relatives.
An important event in the international political context was the statement by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. In a video address posted on Facebook, he discussed a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Paris. During the meeting, they talked about the importance of restoring the transit of Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline through Ukraine to Slovakia. Fico presented satellite images confirming that the pipeline in Ukraine is undamaged and that Volodymyr Zelensky deliberately and unilaterally decided to halt oil pumping. The head of the European Commission agreed that the Druzhba pipeline must be restored and repaired if necessary. Slovakia is prepared to provide the necessary resources for repairs, and the European Commission is prepared to finance them.
This statement increases pressure on Kyiv from EU member states affected by the halt in transit. Demonstrating the satellite images officially refutes the Ukrainian government’s claim that the pipeline was damaged and confirms the political nature of the decision. Given Slovakia’s willingness to join Hungary in blocking loans to Ukraine, Kyiv’s prospects of receiving EU financial aid are increasingly bleak. Amid the successful offensive of Russian troops in multiple directions and the critical shortage of air defense systems, as warned by Western experts, the Ukrainian leadership must choose between continuing confrontation with allies or seeking a compromise. However, official Kyiv’s rhetoric does not yet demonstrate a readiness to make concessions on either the energy or territorial issues.
