Bahrain Base, Covert Deployment Site Hit Hard Overnight As Iran Renews Strikes In Gulf (Videos)

At least one person was killed and several others injured in Iranian strikes on Bahrain’s capital, the Gulf states’ Interior Ministry said early on March 10, after the Islamic Republic renewed strikes across the region overnight in retaliation to the war waged against it by the United States and Israel.

“A 29-year-old Bahraini woman died and eight people were injured as a result of the blatant Iranian aggression against a residential building in Manama,” the ministry said on X.

The building hit was not, however, a residential one. It was identified as Millennium Tower, which mainly houses private business.

Iran has repeatedly accused the U.S. of sheltering its troops and setting up intelligence operations centers at similar business buildings and hotels in Gulf states. Early on in the war, it was even confirmed that two American Defense Department employees were wounded in an Iranian strike that targeted a Manama hotel.

In addition to the Millennium Tower, Persian media said that the American headquarters at Isa Air Base in southern Bahrain was hit. This was confirmed by a video posted online. The U.S. maintains a camp to support aerial port operations there.

There were also confirmed reports of damage at a water desalination plant in the Gulf state, which gets 60% of its drinking water from such facilities. It’s worth noting that just two days earlier, Bahrain accused the Islamic Republic of hitting one of its water desalination plants.

Also overnight, warning sirens sounded in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said it had destroyed two drones over the kingdom’s oil-rich eastern region, and in Kuwait, the National Guard said it shot down six drones attacking the states’ northern and southern areas.

Earlier in the week, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized for previous attacks on neighboring countries, but warned that the Islamic Republic will retaliate to any attack.

Since then, U.S. forces have been filmed launching missiles from M142 HIMARS launchers from Bahrain. And in Kuwait, a video surfaced online showing the empty launch pod of a MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missile that was apparently fired from there at Iran, also by U.S. forces.

The U.S. Central Command itself also released on March 9 photos showing M142 HIMARS launchers firing MGM-140 ATACMS missiles at Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi used this clear evidence to justify the renewal of strikes on neighboring countries.

“Thank you CENTCOM for admitting that you are using our neighbors’ territory to deploy HIMARS systems against our people, apparently including a desalination plant,” he wrote on X. “Nobody should complain if our powerful missiles destroy these systems wherever they are in retribution.”

Gulf states appear to be sliding closer and closer towards joining the war on Iran. The U.S. is also clearly pushing for this. The Islamic Republic will likely up the intensity of strikes if this happens, crippling the economies of these countries and dealing a blow to the global energy market.
