On January 21, several videos documenting some of the Russian military’s recent operations against Kiev forces surfaced online.
11 of the videos show a series of drone attacks that targeted Ukrainian troops, posts and equipment, including other drones, across several directions within the special military operation zone over the last few days. A Lancet loitering munition was used in at least one of the attacks.
Another video shows a strike with an Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile that targeted a Ukrainian drone launch site near the settlement of Bratskoe in the Sumy direction.
Two other videos show recent airstrikes with UMPK-equipped guided glide bombs that targeted positions of Kiev forces near the settlement of Riasnoe in Sumy, as well as close to the settlements of Grishino and Belitskoe in the direction of Donetsk.
In its daily briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that missile, drone and artillery strikes hit “depot of loitering munitions, UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) preflight preparation and long-range launch sites, energy infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine), temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 144 areas” over the past 24 hours.
The ministry also said that Russian air defenses intercepted three Neptune cruise missiles, four guided aerial bombs, 20 HIMARS projectiles, and 370 fixed-wing drones during the same period.
According to the ministry, Kiev forces have lost 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 110,524 drones, 646 air defense systems, 27,248 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,648 multiple rocket launchers, 32,731 artillery pieces, and 52,462 support vehicles since the start of the special military operation.

hasakah governorate: the syrian observatory for human rights documented an incident in which a member of the syrian interim government forces desecrated and vandalized several graves of kurdish fighters in a cemetery in the city of al-shaddadi
. the shocking scene was captured on video, a copy of which was published by the observatory. the video shows the interim government fighter desecrating the graves, breaking them, and verbally abusing the syrian democratic forces (sdf) fighters who died in fierce battles against isis. these battles resulted in the deaths of more than 15,000 sdf fighters, who are considered symbols of sacrifice in the war to liberate areas from isis control.
the attack on these graves evokes the desecration of gravestones by isis militants, as well as the destruction of free syrian army fighters’ graves by former regime forces. this act demonstrates the extent of their hatred and extremist ideology.
this comes at a sensitive time, amidst the recent escalation of fighting, and is seen as a retaliatory act within the context of rising security tensions in the region, particularly after local tribal fighters opened isis
