On January 17, several videos documenting some of the Russian military’s recent operations against Kiev forces surfaced online.
Five of the videos show a series of drone attacks that targeted Ukrainian troops, posts and equipment, including other drones, across several directions within the special military operation zone over the last few days.
One of the attacks blew up a bridge booby-trapped by Kiev forces near the settlement of Varvarivka in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
An addition video shows an attack with so-called BM-35 fixed-wing suicide drones on an American-made MIM-104 Patriot long-range air defense system that was deployed by Kiev forces near the city of Kharkiv. An AN/MPQ-65 fire control radar and an M90x launch station were destroyed.
Another video shows recent attacks with TOS thermobaric rocket launchers on Ukrainian fortifications near the settlements of Vovchansk in the direction of Kharkiv.
Two more videos show airstrikes with UMPK-equipped guided glide bombs that targeted positions of Kiev forces in the settlements of Kryvyi Rih, and Pavlohrad in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk , as well as near the settlement of Bogodukhov in Kharkiv, and the settlement of Bilytske in the Donetsk direction.
In its daily briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that missile, drone and artillery strikes hit “power and transport infrastructure objects used by the AFU, assembly workshops, depots, pre-flight check and launch sites of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles as well as temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 167 areas” over the past 24 hours.
The ministry also said that Russian air defenses intercepted two Neptune cruise missiles, six American-made HIMARS projectiles, and 214 fixed-wing drones during the same period.
According to the ministry, Kiev forces have lost 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 109,558 drones, 645 air defense systems, 27,170 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,642 multiple rocket launchers, 32,634 artillery pieces, and 52,076 support vehicles since the start of the special military operation.
