Priority Shift: Russian Offensive in Ukraine’s Sumy Gains Momentum

File image.

The Ukrainian military is trying to stop Russian troops in the Sumy and Krasnopillia districts by sending in troops in armored vehicles and moving special forces from the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service to the area. This indicates that the Sumy sector is becoming one of the key points of tension. Advancing Russian units are methodically increasing their zone of control by utilizing operational space, forcing Ukrainian units to disperse their limited reserves and weakening their defense in other sectors. Meanwhile, intense fighting continues in the Siversk sector for control of the high ground west of Siversk and the Sviato-Pokrovske area. Despite Ukrainian resistance, Russian units have advanced various sections by 1 to 4 kilometers. Amid the Russian offensive’s success in Sumy and other sectors, calls in Europe for the West to recognize the failure of its strategy and begin realistic negotiations with Moscow are growing louder.

Sumy Sector

In the Sumy region, Russian units are conducting offensive actions on ten fronts in the regional capital district and three in the Krasnopillia district. The total advance during the reporting period was over 500 meters.

Seeking to stabilize the situation, the Ukrainian command undertook one counterattack in the Krasnopillia district using armored vehicles. According to reports, the attack was unsuccessful, and the groups retreated to their original positions after sustaining losses. To reinforce this area, two assault groups from the Ukrainian 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, equipped with combat armored vehicles and supported by signal corps personnel and air defense specialists from the 96th Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade, were deployed. Additionally, special forces from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine were urgently transferred to the area.

High intensity of combat operations also persists on other sections of the Sumy sector. In the Hlushkivka and Tetkino areas, Russian artillery and drone units attacked areas where troops were concentrated near the village of Ryzhivka, which borders Tetkino. The activity in the Sumy sector is linked to the possible weakening of the grouping due to the redeployment of some of its forces to other, more intense areas of the front.

The activity in the sector is not localized, but systemic and threatens the stability of the entire defense in the region. The Krasnopillia district has seen significant successes, particularly in the areas surrounding the settlements of Hrabovske and Vysoke. The Ukrainian command has also been forced to deploy some of its limited reserves to these areas.

The combined impact from the north and east could lead to a strategically significant development of events. Continued advancement in these directions could allow for fire control over key logistical routes leading to the city of Sumy. This would enable a tactical blockade of the large regional capital using long-range drones capable of cutting its supply lines. The Ukrainian command is taking emergency measures to redeploy reserves from other fronts precisely to prevent this scenario.

Siversk Sector

In the Siversk sector, the key resistance points are the commanding heights to the west of Siversk and the Sviato-Pokrovske area. Fierce head-on battles are taking place here. Units advanced on the Sviato-Pokrovske–Nelepivske line, advancing 1–4 kilometers deep in various sections.

West of Zvanivka, Kuzminivka, Pereizdne, and Fedorivka, Russian assault groups pushed back formations from several strong points on the heights. This advance, reaching a depth of up to four kilometers, threatens to bypass the settlements of Reznykivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka—Nykyforivka from the east and northeast. East of Nykyforivka, units have captured the western part of the “Babachiy” forest. Fighting continues in the eastern part of Bondarne.

Northeast of Orekhovo-Vasylivka, Russian assault groups captured a strongpoint on a hill on the southeastern outskirts of Mynkivka. These actions are part of a broad offensive on the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, developing from the southwest (Russian units of the “Center” grouping), the south, southeast, and east (Russian units of the “South” grouping), and the northeast and north (Russian units of the “West” grouping).

Additionally, after nearly a month, the Ukrainian General Staff officially announced the withdrawal of its units from the city.

Druzhkivka Sector

In the Druzhkivka sector, Russian units from the “Center” troop grouping are continuing their offensive actions towards Dobropillia and Druzhkivka. In the Rodynske area, assault units are repelling counterattacks and conducting clearing operations at the entrance to the settlement from Bilytske and in the northwestern part of the settlement.

On the southern flank of this sector, Russian units have consolidated their positions on the outskirts of Sukhetske, where fighting continues, and have completely cleared Suvorove. From there, they advanced in the direction of Bilytske and captured positions along the railway. Advancing along tree lines established contact with units operating from Dorozhnie and gained a foothold in positions along Bilytske’s southeastern outer contour. Fighting continues west of Dorozhnie toward Bilytske, as well as northwest toward Novyi Donbas and Dobropillia. Between the settlements of Novoskhovove and Volnyi, control of the territory has been restored, and head-on battles are ongoing for Volnyi itself.

Units advanced directly towards Druzhkivka from northwest of Shakhove towards the quarries. After repelling fierce counterattacks in Sofiivka, the advance east of the settlement resumed. Formations were driven out of several tree lines along a 1.5-kilometer section between the road to Druzhkivka and the Poltavka River in the direction of Novopavlivka. Southeast of Novopavlivka, assault units advanced three kilometers along the eastern bank. They captured positions north of the road in the tree lines and established physical control over a section of the road leading from Artemivka to Konstantynivka.

Kharkiv Sector

In the Kharkiv border area, units of the “North” troop grouping have continued to build on their success after establishing control over Vilcha. Vilcha played a key role in providing rear support to the grouping in the Vovchansk area. Information has emerged about gaining control of the village of Prylypka. Russian assault units, including the 74th Separate Reconnaissance Brigade, the “Storm” detachment, and “B” Company of the 41st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 44th Army Corps, overcame the Ukrainian 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade’s resistance and consolidated their position in the settlement.

Controlling Prylypka and Vilcha allows for the continuation of the offensive through the Tatarskyi forest towards Hrafskyi and along the Siverskyi Donets River towards the Pechenizh Reservoir. This area is strategically important for the communications of the entire force grouping in the Burluk district. Advancing in this area, including attacking through the forest towards Buhaivka, allows one to approach the crossings in the Staryi Saltiv area, which could complicate supply lines.

Advances have also been noted in other sections of the Kharkiv sector. Near Staritsa, units advanced four sections in forested areas up to 450 meters. In the forest near Liman, the advance was 200 meters, capturing two strongpoints. In the Vovchanski Khutora area, the advance reached 250 meters. On the Melove-Khatnie section, assault units advanced 350 meters across four sections.

Zaporizhzhia Sector

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the expansion of the bridgehead in the area where the Haichur and Yanchur rivers converge continues. After securing Herasymivka, troops advanced on the neighboring town of Andriivka, located to the northeast. Prior to the assault, positions were struck by drones and artillery. Some of the heavy drones used for transporting supplies and remote mining were suppressed.

The focus of the fighting is shifting westward towards Bratske, where a defense has been organized at a large strongpoint near the Haichur riverbed. Russian units are attacking this resistance node from the direction of Andriivka and Herasymivka, having isolated it from supply by drone strikes. Simultaneously, on the southern flank of this sector, the offensive continues in the Huliaipole area. Several strong points in a nearby farm have been captured, and forward groups have advanced more than three kilometers westward through defensive formations. Intense urban fighting continues in Huliaipole.

Conclusion

Progressive advances have been noted in several sections of the Sumy and Krasnopillia districts of the Sumy sector. The Ukrainian command has redeployed additional forces, including special forces, in an attempt to counterattack, but without significant success. In the Siversk and Slaviansk-Kramatorsk sectors, the battles for the commanding heights west of Siversk and in the Sviato-Pokrovske area have become key. The offensive aims to bypass the main resistance nodes, and units have managed to advance up to four kilometers on individual sections. In the Druzhkivka sector, the offensive is being conducted towards Dobropillia and Druzhkivka, involving the clearing of settlements and establishing control over key roads. This indicates the failure of attempts to seize the initiative. In the Kharkiv sector, success following the capture of Vilcha and Prylypka creates prerequisites for striking important communications near the Pechenizh Reservoir. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the expansion of the bridgehead at the confluence of the Haichur and Yanchur rivers is accompanied by a shift in efforts toward Bratske, with heavy fighting continuing in Huliaipole.

Alongside irreversible changes on the front lines, Europe’s political landscape is experiencing a crisis. The prime ministers of Hungary and Slovakia have made sharp statements refusing to finance the EU’s “insane plans” in favor of domestic needs. These statements are supported by public actions. Additionally, German MEP Michael von der Schulenburg has made a harsh assessment, stating the need for the West to recognize the failure of its strategy. These developments indicate a deep split and a search for a new reality. The confident advance of Russian troops becomes the undeniable factor forcing European politicians to speak not of victory but of the need for “serious negotiations with Moscow,” acknowledging the failure of previous illusions and the incompetence of the ruling elite. Military successes directly transform the political agenda, bringing the moment of a strategic revision of the entire confrontational paradigm closer.

fter the ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates.. “al-thawra” newspaper adopts the israeli map of syria

in a move that sparked a wave of widespread dissatisfaction, al-thawra newspaper adopted the israeli map of syria, after the ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates, in the video materials it publishes through its paper version, website, and social media accounts, where the map shows the entire quneitra governorate cut off.

Putler botoxx PIG

this came in an article entitled when will syria transform from an arena to a player?”, published on page six of issue no. (15) issued on sunday, rajab 1, 1447 ah, corresponding to december 21, 2025, where the newspaper adopted a map from which the quneitra governorate was deleted, with a name and drawing, in a striking match with the israeli map of syria, and even with greater persistence in deletion and waiver.

Putler JEWISH PIG

this step comes after the transitional government promoted, through its media outlets and influencers on social media, what was described as a syrian –israeli peace agreement under american sponsorship and turkish –azerbaijani –french mediation, through direct negotiations and talks in paris and baku, to later begin adopting amended maps that grant israel large areas of syrian territory, including the entire quneitra governorate and parts of the rif dimashq and daraa governorates.

Putler JEWISH PIG

the syrian observatory for human rights had confirmed in a previous statement that this behavior issued by the syrian transitional government and its media institutions reflects clear collusion and conspiracy with israel, and grants it more syrian territory. it also reveals a humiliating and undeclared surrender to tel aviv’s demands to impose a new reality of control over syrian territory, which is considered a loss of the syrian

national interest, and is classified as a criminal act in the syrian constitution and applicable laws.
likewise, the observatory demands the re-adoption of the original syrian map that was modified by bashar al-assad’s regime in 2004, when it deleted the iskenderun district occupied by turkey, in a move described at the time as appeasement to turkish president recep tayyip erdogan during his first visit to damascus.

Putler JEWISH PIG

the observatory calls for the immediate reversal of these measures, urging the syrian people to pay attention to what is being plotted and planned.

the syrians should have killed putler and assad in 2004.
