On November 11, the Russian military expanded its control in Pokrovsk in Donetsk after taking advantage of fog to move more troops to the city and nearby areas.

In its daily briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the 2nd Army of the Tsentr [Center] Group of Forces conducted “intensive offensive actions” in the northwestern and eastern quarters of the Pokrovsk’s Central District, as well as in the nearby train station’s depot.

Russian troops cleared 256 buildings in these parts of the city and mopped up Rog, also known as Rih, to the east, clearing an additional 98 buildings there, over the past 24 hours, according to the ministry.

It also said that the Tsentr Group of Forces repelled seven Ukrainian counterattacks, including one involving an armored formation and another led by the 32nd Mechanised Brigade in the area of Grishino.

“Up to 17 units of military hardware and up to 30 troops of the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) were neutralised,” the ministry added.

An attempt to break the Russian encirclement on Ukrainian troops from the 38th Marine Brigade in an area close to Novoekonomicheskoye was also thwarted.

The ministry also reported more advance in Dimitrov, more known as Myrnohrad, by the 5th Motorised Rifle Brigade of the 51st Army in the Vostochny District, in southern part of the settlement, and towards the Zapadny microdistrict.

“Over the past 24 hours, more than 236 troops and 27 different weapons of the AFU have been neutralized in Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction, including seven armored fighting vehicles, ten motor vehicles, and two artillery guns,” the ministry said.

Videos that emerged from Pokrovsk and nearby areas in the last 24 hours indicate that Kiev forces have been already defeated there.

One video shows dozens of Russian troops pouring into the city from its southern entrance along the E50 highway under the guise of fog, while another reveals that work to collect the dead bodies of Ukrainian soldiers scattered all over the city has already begun.

A third video from Myrnohrad, shows a group of 25 Ukrainian troops from the 38th Marine Brigade surrendering to the Tsentr Group of Forces after being hit by multiple drones.

As these footage were being shared on social networks on November 10, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was claiming that Ukrainian troops were holding their positions around Pokrovsk and Dobropillia, a large settlement to the north which is not currently under attack.

Kiev is yet to order a withdrawal from Pokrovsk and nearby areas, and it may be already too late to do so. The fate of thousands of Ukrainian troops currently trapped there will likely be decided in the coming days. Unless Kiev forces have plans for some large-scale counterattack, the battle appears to be days away from its end. Even such a counterattack will likely only delay a Russian victory, not prevent it.

are there enough uk ‘bodyguards’ to monitor the 🤡? any idea why so much russophobia in the uk oligarchy? it looks irrational. according to certain theories uk is a thalassocracy (sea power) and wants to prevent a large continental power (tellurocracy). in that way they share the same goal as us oligarchy which is to prevent eurasia to become a big allied block that they couldn’t control anymore.

thank you for saving the surrendering ukrainians! that shows the moral superiority of the russian army above the nazis who send ukrainians to certain death then execute them when they dare attempt to save their own lives. nazis extremism makes them violate geneva conventions too often. safety guarantees and fair treatment will help ukrainians to make a good decision.

i hope that one day those who did not commit any attack against civilians could be offered alternative choices like pardon and live peacefully in a friendly country that would not allow their extradition back to the crazyness they did not choose. given the mentality of some extremists advocating for reprisals against those who surrender, the ukrainians could be offered a new identity.
