As Ukrainian forces face mounting pressure along the frontlines, Kyiv has resorted to large-scale UAV and naval drone attack on Crimea in an apparent attempt to offset its battlefield losses, amid the recent discussions of the international recognition of Crimea as Russian region. The attack, which unfolded overnight, saw waves of Ukrainian UAVs, accompanied by unmanned boats, targeting Russian infrastructure across the peninsula. However, the vast majority of these strikes were intercepted, underscoring both the scale of Ukraine’s desperation and the resilience of Russian defenses.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the total destruction of 121 Ukrainian drones, including 89 over Crimea, 23 over the Black Sea, 1 over the Sea of Azov and others over Russian border regions. Additionally, according to the official report, Russian naval forces neutralized 10 unmanned boats and a U.S.-manufactured Willard high-speed craft, with two more Ukrainian unmanned boats damaged.
Despite the intensity of the assault, no critical infrastructure suffered damage, though air raid alerts in Sevastopol persisted for much of the night.
The attack followed a well-documented pattern of Ukrainian operation. After they took off in Vilkovo at the mouth of the Danube, about 30 unmanned boats stopped on the Snake Island before splitting into groups targeting Tarkhankut, Donuzlav, and Sevastopol. Some of the vessels launched strikes on gas platforms near the Schmidt and Golitsyn gas fields, though their effectiveness remains in doubt. Meanwhile, kamikaze drones attacked the peninsula, mainly targeting Russian air defense assets, including radar stations and S-300V missile launchers. While these drones carry relatively small warheads, their low-altitude flight profiles make them challenging to detect and intercept.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine published footage from the UAVs reportedly reaching some of the targets:
Ukrainian unmanned boats were accompanied by Russian reconnaissance UAVs:
This escalation was long anticipated. Since mid-April, NATO reconnaissance aircraft, including U-2S, P-8A, and RC-135, have conducted intensive surveillance over the Black Sea, feeding targeting data to Ukrainian forces. LINK Such operations have historically preceded major strikes, and the latest attack suggests Kyiv is preparing for further offensives. With Ukrainian naval drones capable of loitering autonomously for days, the threat of follow-up attacks remains high.
The night assault underscores Ukraine’s dwindling options. Unable to halt Russian advances on the ground, Kyiv is increasingly reliant on symbolic strikes aimed at sustaining Western support. Yet as Russian air defenses continue to adapt, these operations risk becoming costly gestures with diminishing returns. The coming weeks may see further escalation, but without a decisive breakthrough, Ukraine’s strategy risks exhaustion, leaving Crimea firmly under Russian control and the frontline ever more precarious.
“ukraine on verge of total collapse”
–shitfront idiots (every day since 2022 february)
heheheehhee
shades of the last gasp of zelensky’s predecessor. the little corporal tried this stunt with doodlebugs and v2s in 1945 and look where it got him…..
many nighas lounched very painfull strike against my assholov. very bad intensive kare.
both sides russia and ukraine are collapsing since 2022 and both are winning at the same time depending on who you listen or read.
when will we hear the news of poutine and his wife hanging upside down from a lantern along with peskov, zackarova, nebenzya and all their lovely banker(s) and energy heads in “red square”?… all zioni$t traitors.
…
“motorola” rip!
103 drones shot down + 11 boats sunk to damage a s-300v ( posible model decoy) and 2 old soviet radar….we know that ukrainian propaganda when they invaded kursk for such purpose and later they were complety defeated
and as long as russia refuses to name every “name”… man, woman and child who has been murdered since this odyssey began in 2014, especially the eastern ukrainians that sacrificed everything in their civil war and gave their lives to be free followed by the sacrifices of the russian military this war will continue to be a lie, whether russia is “winning” or not!…
you gotta wonder how much of such footage is recycled too.
as long as the war is going nothing will happen. if this war ends and russia has to give up territories russian and donbas soldiers died for in some kind of deal it is possible some family members of fallen soldiers might do something. if russia does not get the west to end the sanctions and the russians realise the economic problems are not tight to the war but permanent then the west could launch a second “revolution” killing again millions in the process.
meanwhile, kamikaze drones attacked the peninsula, mainly targeting russian air defense assets, including radar stations and s-300v missile launchers.
where are the pantsir short range ad systems to cover radar instalations, s-300 etc?
and why wasn’t this completely preempted and put down with 5 months of that ugly k-bitch with the cell phone?… and please don’t anyone tell us that this was not possible when poutine was watching it unravel!… as long as he and his consorts and government remain in the u.n. and continue doing all forms of commerce with them as they continue to loot, maim and murder this will continue.
…and as far as prediction(s) continue forward… i don’t see ukraine being a land locked “rump state” as long as poutine and his entourage remain in power.
crimean traitors go “boom-boom bye-bye”!
heheheh
the ukroreich should have no electricity so that there are dark screens for them to watch. that would slow them down quite a bit in their terror operations. that is the first target of the neocon terrorists on day one. unfortunately it works.
oh look at the ukrops and their nafo poof owners festering sf salivating over a couple of videos, yet totally disregarding the reality and military maps. just a whiff of some ukrops success draws them to a gay orgy of almost insane comments, here to spoil, disrupt and ruin.
why does not russia or china put some planes around the us fleet in the red see and give the huthis target intel? cause they know different to them the usa will not hesitate to shoot them down.
the usa and brits can probably not understand why russia lets them get away with controling the drone strikes from their recon planes and drones.
ask yourself why they don’t shoot around the kremlin and along bankova street, and the answer will come by itself
