The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) released on March 12 videos of the extensive strikes that targeted southern Syria over the past two days.

The strikes targeted several bases of the former Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the governorates of al-Qunitra, Daraa, Rif Dimashq and al-Suwayda, according to Syrian media. Despite the large scale of the aerial attack, there were no reports of casualties.

In a statement, the IDF said that the strikes hit radars and other intelligence-collecting systems, along with military headquarters and weapon depots belonging to the former Syrian regime.

Some 40 targets were hit by some 60 munitions dropped by 22 fighter jets of the Israeli Air Force, according to the military.

The latest wave of Israeli strikes on Syria was the most extensive since the fall of the regime of former president Bashar al-Assad last December.

Right after the fall of the regime on December 8, Israeli troops invaded the buffer zone adjacent to the occupied Golan Heights in the southern Syrian governorate of al-Qunitra. Nine strategic posts were established there, including two atop Mount Hermon. The IDF also launched hundreds of strikes destroying much of the country’s military capabilities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last month that southern Syria must be completely demilitarized, warning that Israel would not accept the presence of the forces of the new Syrian Islamists government near its territory. The primer also warned the government against attacking the Druze minority, vowing to defend the minority.

The latest strikes on Syria were praised by Defense Minister Israel Katz, who said during a visit to one of the posts on Mount Hermon that the attack was a part of the policy announced by Netanyahu.

Katz went on to warn Syrian interim president Ahmad al-Sharaa, also known by the nom de guerre Abu Mohamad al-Julani, that the IDF was keeping a close eye on him.

It’s worth noting that the Israeli escalation came amid a bloody escalation on the country’s coast, where more than 1,300 civilians from the Alawite minority -which Assad belongs to- have been killed so far by government forces. Israel slammed the killings and Alawite leaders asked the IDF to intervene. However, these gestures are yet to develop into actions.

the druze have to crawl into hamas’s holes in gaza in exchange for protection against isis in syria.
yes, israeli missiles in syria are protecting the druze from the gangs of the mad isis leader.
to pay, the druze have to crawl into hamas’s caves and hunt down hamas. since hamas in gaza is an ally of isis in syria and sultan erdogan in turkey, it probably wouldn’t be a problem if the israelis now enslaved the alawite population of syria as well.
