The military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation does not stop surprising the Ukrainian military, supplying the Russian army with new UAVs.
Ukrainian military sources have recently shared a video of an unidentified Russian UAV falling in the border Sumy region. Reports about the deployment of a new kamikaze drone were supported by the footage of its wreckage.

Judging by the footage, a number of external features of the device resemble to the recently presented Russian KUB-2 UAV. According to some other suggestions, it was more similar to the Iranian Meraj-521.
According to Ukrainian military reporters, the new drone is equipped with a cumulative high-explosive incendiary warhead, an electric motor. The approximate range of the drone is reportedly 40-60 km. Ukrainian reporters claimed that the UAV uses serial electronic components manufactured in the Russian Federation. Thus, the new UAV has most likely already gone into mass production.

It is not clear what Russian UAV is threatening the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region. The KUB-2-E guided barrage ammunition of small and medium classes was presented at the IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The KUB-2-E small-class complex is designed to destroy manpower (up to an individual soldier) and unarmored enemy military equipment. The KUB-2-E of the middle class has a wider range of applications: it is designed to strike enemy personnel, UAV launch sites, helicopter bases, as well as unarmored and lightly armored military equipment. They are equipped with optoelectronic systems, so that operators can aim the UAV at targets even when the latter change their location. Both munitions have a mass of over 10 kg and speed near the ground up to 15 m/s.
