The Lebanese military said on November 7 that three of its troops and four Malaysian peacekeepers from the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) were wounded in an Israeli strike near one of its checkpoints in the southern city of Sidon.

Three others, identified as Lebanese civilians, were killed by the same strike, according to a statement released by the military.

“The Israeli enemy targeted a car while it was passing through the Awali checkpoint in Sidon, which led to the killing of three citizens who were inside it, in addition to the injury of three soldiers manning the checkpoint and four members of the Malaysian” contingent in the UNIFIL force, the military said in the statement.

There is no immediate comment from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) or UNIFIL on the deadly strike, which was not the first incident of this kind.

Earlier, the IDF announced that some 60 Hezbollah fighters were killed in a series of Israeli strikes on some 20 targets in the northeastern Lebanese region of Baalbek and other areas north of the Litani River.

Separately, the military said that dozens more Hezbollah targets were struck in the past day, including a rocket launcher used in an attack on central Israel, weapon depots, and other infrastructure.

Also overnight, Israeli strikes hit targets of Hezbollah, including command rooms and other military infrastructure, in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, according to the IDF.

Before the strikes, the IDF issued evacuation warnings to civilians in targeted areas within Beirut. One of the areas was located right next to Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, which was not affected by the strikes. Casualties were reported however.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, with Hezbollah launching attacks in support of the Palestinian enclave. Israel escalated its attacks on Lebanon starting from September 17 and on September 27 it assassinated the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nassrallah.

On September 30, the IDF announced the beginning of a limited ground operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

The confrontation has so far resulted in 41 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as well as the deaths of at least 62 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 3,000 people have been killed, including more than 500 members of Hezbollah.

no amount of collective punishment will be able to dislodge hizballah from south lebanon. israel can’t even finish hamas after more than a year of occupation and the demolition of the tiny gaza strip.

Wallter.

just one thing to do for the world society, finish off the tribe of jews that has since long forfeited the right to be part of mankind. nothing much to it.

Zionism

israel’s cruelty and disregard for human life has assured them of a dark future. israel’s long term survival has brought an ever expanding war that they do not have the power to win but only to kill large numbers even if they still have the power of the usa in their pocket’.
