AlMasdarNews reports: Three days after pushing back the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) militants from the outskirts of Palmyra (Tadmur), the Syrian Arab Army’s 60th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division regained the initiative and launched a counter-assault along the road leading to the T-3 Pumping Station in southeast Homs.
According to a source from the 11th Tank Division, the 60th Brigade, alongside the 67th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division and National Defense Forces (NDF), liberated several points near the Talilah Crossroad after a violent battle with the Islamic State terrorists.
The source added that the Syrian Armed Forces are now attacking the Islamic State’s defenses at the Talilah Crossroad, which is located in between Palmyra City and the T-3 Pumping Station.
If the T-3 Pumping Station is liberated, then the Syrian Armed Forces will be within striking distance of Al-Sukhanah’s southeastern flank.
