Hezbollah attacked on May 12 a key base of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) near the northern settlement of Beit Hillel where an Iron Dome air defense system is deployed.
In two separate statements, the group said it targeted Iron Dome launchers in the base with an number of suicide drones then launched an additional drone to target Israeli troops who gathered at the site of the initial attack. Israeli F-16s attempted to intercept the drones but failed, the group added.
Video footage of the failed interception attempt was later released by Ali Shoeib, the correspondent of Lebanon’s Al-Manar TV which is linked to Hezbollah.
The footage also revealed that Hezbollah used a twin-tail version of the Iranina-made Ababil-2 suicide drone in the complex attacks.
The drone attack was carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted in its statements.
Hebrew media reported a drone strike Beit Hillel and later the IDF admitted that at least two drones landed near the settlement. However, there were no reports of casualties.
The IDF said in a statement that its fighter jets struck a building used by Hezbollah in the southern Lebanese town of al-Amra in response to the attack. Lebanese media didn’t report any civilian casualties and Hezbollah didn’t announce any losses.
Hezbollah launched several drone attacks in recent weeks. Israeli air defenses failed to intercept the vast majority of the group’s suicide drones. On May 6, a drone attack that targeted a site near the northern settlement of Metula claimed the lives of two Israeli soldiers and wounded another.
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza last October, Hezbollah and its allies began launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in the Strip.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in nine civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 14 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 400 people have been killed, including 279 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians.

the myth that israel is invincible has been broken by hamas and hezbollah and all the militant organizations fighting against israel. all israel can do is kill women and children, kill civilians and demolish homes.
well, that was the plan from the beginning. israel gets what it wants. and much more to come.
more of that and the squatters will soon sue for peace and request that the disunited states of avarice offer the squatters the sonara desert as a safe heaven (however there are no safe places anywhere for the squatters – not even in the south west of the usa)!
nah, they’ll be going to their real homeland, khazaria. why do you think they’re killing off all the ukrainians?
hahahaha…like shooting a fly with a handgun.
so you pinpricked a outpost and killed 2 soldiers but never target any nuclear weapons facility or imi personnel
