On April 12, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched bloody attack on the town of Tokmak in the Zaporozhie region. The day after attack, the death toll increased to ten civilians. According to local reports, the AFU used cluster munitions in an attempt to increase civilian casualties.
The Russian governor of the Zaporozhye region confirmed that the number of civilian casualties as a result of the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Tokmak has increased. On April 13, rescuers recovered two more bodies of the killed civilians, an adult and a child, from the rubble.
Two civilians are still missing, the debris is being dismantled and the search continues.
Shortly before that, rescuers saved lives of five more people taken from the rubble, all of them were heavily wounded but survived the attack.
The attack took place on the afternoon of April 12. Deaths of eight civilians, including two children, were immediately confirmed. At least 20 civilians were wounded.
The Ukrainian military is regularly shelling residential areas in Tokmak. On April 9, the AFU struck the local car shop with the US-made HIMARS MLRS. Fortunately, casualties were avoided.
