A salvo of rockets hit the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights late on January 19, further fueling tensions from the ongoing war in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

Local authorities in the Golan Heights said that three rockets were fired from southern Syria and landed in open areas near the settlement of Yonatan.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), reported the launch of at least ten rockets from southern Syria. The London-based monitoring group said that the rocket attack was carried out by affiliates of the Lebanese Iranian-backed group Hezbollah.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced strikes on southern Syria in response to the rocket attack. The SOHR confirmed that ten Israeli projectiles hit three Syrian military sites between the towns of Nawa and Tasil in the western countryside of Daraa governorate without causing any casualties.

Israel has significantly escalated its attacks on Syria since the outbreak of the war with the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza.

Rocket attacks from southern Syria against the Golan Heights also became a regular occurrence. In addition, the occupied region was targeted by suicide drones launched by Iranian-baccked armed factions from Iraq on several occasions.

In an attempt to de-escalate tensions between Syria and Israel, the Russian military established recently a series of observation posts in the governorate of al-Quneitra along the Golan front.

Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes against Syria over the past decade, often targeting Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed factions, but it rarely acknowledges or discusses the operations. The war-torn country has largely refrained from responding to Israel’s repeated attacks in an attempt to avoid a dangerous confrontation.

what’s this? zionists leave some dirt and a pipe on the road and claim it’s a missile attack? they really stopped putting effort into their false-flag stunts.

there’s a lebanese passport in the rocket too. that’s how we know the lebanese government was involved.

israel gets hit, they over-respond. good, very good. they’ll run out of ammo even faster. these people are soooo stupid. soon, hezbollah and hamas can attack with slingshots and devastate the rest of the leech state. the sooner, the better.
