On the night of January 10, 2024, new wave of Russian strikes hit Ukrainian military facilities. Explosions were reported in the Ukrainian regions of Kherson, Sumy and Kharkiv, as well as in the rear areas near the frontlines, including in the town of Konstantinovka, which was turned into a large stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Donetsk city agglomeration.
Most of the Russian strikes reportedly hit the targets in the border Kharkiv region, which is pounded by Russian missiles almost on a daily basis, especially after the bloody attack on Russian civilians in the city of Belgorod on December 30, 2023.
Last night, at least three Russian strikes were confirmed by the local authorities. The Russian military reportedly used the S-300 missiles modified to hit ground targets.
New attack inflicted more damage to the military-industrial facilities in the city of Kharkiv. According to local reports, one of the targets was the Kharkiv Aircraft Factory. The facility is now serving the needs of the Ukrainian military, rockets and cruise missiles are produced there.
Another target damaged by the Russian strikes last night was the Kharkiv-Severny airfield, where warehouses with military equipment were destroyed.
The local media shared footage of the damage caused to the former Solnechny children’s camp located on the outskirts of Kharkiv. The facility was reportedly struck by Russian Iskander missile. The date of the strike was not clarified but judging by the footage, the camp was likely hit during one of the recent massive attacks. Obviously, there are no children in the recreation facilities near the frontlines. The Ukrainian military is using them to accommodate the military personnel there.
Heavy artillery shelling and airstrikes were also reported in Kupyansk, in the Kharkiv region. On January 9, the commanders of the Ukrainian army headed by the Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov came to the area of Kupyansk to hold an operational meeting and discuss the situation in this direction.
