On December 28, the Southern Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a bulk carrier was blown up by a naval mine in the Black Sea, when it was heading to one of the Danube ports of Ukraine to load grain.
According to the Ukrainian military, a bulk carrier that was sailing under the flag of Panama, was damaged as a result of the explosion. The ship lost its course and control, and a fire broke out on the upper deck. To avoid flooding, the captain fixed it on the shoal. Two sailors were reportedly wounded. Tugs were sent to the ship to remove it from the shoal and deliver it to the port.
The Ukrainian military admitted its importance to secure the waters of the Blck Sea by their own means:
“Stormy weather often exacerbates the mine danger. Therefore, the issue of mine clearance of the sea with the international support remains relevant,” the AFU reported.
According to open sources, the ship was not a bulk carrier but a cargo ship designed to transport general cargo. It was blown on its way to the port of Izmail on the bank of the Danube River in the Odessa region.
Apparently, the ship was traveling along the so-called alternative corridor for Ukrainian grain export, which Kiev announced in August. It turned out that not the Russian Navy but Ukrainian mines are the main threat to the navigation in the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian Navy was indiscriminately mining the coastal waters of the Black Sea back in early 2022, when Kiev was afraid of Russian assault in the Odessa region. According to open sources, Ukrainian forces installed 370 mines in the Black Sea, and about 50 mines more in the Sea of Azov. The Ukrainian military used outdated YAM-1 typed mines. Unlike modern naval mines, the YAM-1 does not have a self-destruct or self-flooding mechanism after a certain time. As a result of unprofessional actions of the Ukrainian military, incorrect long-term storage of mines and their wrong installment, еhe mines have been torn off and they are drifting in the waters, threatening navigation and coastal territories of different countries.

kaboooom! wouldn’t be surprised if those “ukrainian” drifting mines drift into the red sea, arabian sea, gulf of oman, the persian gulf, strait of hormuz, sea of japan or east of taiwan.
amerikan drift into defeat by goat herders in sandals—-ukie nazi now decimated by russian
according to the geniva convention, when sea mines lose their morring a deactivation method must deactivate said mine. all mines in service around the world have this function, their mooring point is an actual switch arm.
either they’re not following geniva conventions, or the “drifting mine” story is bs. i’m going with the latter.
