This is the newest update of the ‘U.S. Carrier Strike Groups Locations Map’ exclusive series showing the approximate locations of U.S. Carrier Strike Groups. SouthFront: Analysis & Intelligence tracks locations of U.S. aircraft carriers using the available open-source information. No classified information was used in production of the map.
Carrier strike group (CSG) is an operational formation of the United States Navy. It is centered on an aircraft carrier and a carrier air wing of 65 to 70 aircrafts. It’s composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of at least two destroyers and/or frigates. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Carrier strike groups comprise a principal element of U.S. power projection over the world’s oceans
cv72 in the middle of desert?
while biden tries to buy off xi i would expect a uss liberty scenario on a ship in the cvn-69 strike force with ideally 3000 or so casualties to anger americans and kick off a war with iran with possibly a renewed ukrainian attack on russia from the resulting propaganda.
yes, something like that… having so many carrier groups in “conflict areas” is a bad, very bad sign.
are we being distracted by palestine, as they move to attack iran, china, or even russia after they have completely lost ukraine ?.
looking forward to seeing russian pacific fleet beefed up with russian battle group of heavy aircraft carrier, yasen-class ssgn’s, two slava-class guided missile cruisers, refurbished udaloy-class destroyers and latest frigates (admiral grigorovich-class) and operating alongside plan.
most people doesn’t understand carriers are floating weapons capable of doing mass destruction to any land force or army. who owns the oceans controlled the world! two deployed carriers in east asia (china), one in the mediterranean (israel) and other is rotating and now its in the indian ocean. in the event of any bigger war, usa mainland carriers will take months before arrive to their final destinations.
you don’t seem to understand that 21st century weapons make 20th century floating airfields very vulnerable. yes having one or two in the fleet is viable, not a dozen.
only vulnerable to 2 countries in the world ; china and russia. to other countries a usa floating airfield is still massive force of bombardment destruction to be feared. note iran so hezbollah have good missiles but their range is limited, so usa just has to keep its aircraft carriers out of range.
yes friend, you do understand modern warfare.
i’d say an iranian navy kilo-class submarine armed with rocket torpedoes has a very good chance of sending 100,000 tons of american diplomacy to the bottom of the arabian sea.
maybe you are right. but carriers never go alone, they go on the back as support, also, do you know any bigger force on earth to control than the ocean. you doesn’t seem to understand a thousand years of men history, also what made british empire the biggest empire, and now usa empire what made them the biggest after wwii. one thousand of well trained navy army soldiers are far better than ten thousand land soldiers. marines are the best of the best, then you have the rangers.
