On November 10, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) opened fire at the remaining hospitals and refuge centers in the northern Gaza Strip as well as civilians attempting to evacuate towards the south.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said that the IDF has bombed al-Shifa Hospital buildings five times since last night. One civilian was killed and several others were wounded in one of the latest attacks, according to the spokesman.
IDF snipers also opened fire at al-Quds Hospital, killing one and wounding 20 others, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society. Another fire attack targeted civilians attempting to evacuate al-Nasr Hospital.
In another attack, at least 20 Palestinians were killed when the IDF struck a school housing refugees in northern Gaza.
Furthermore, the IDF targeted civilians fleeing south through Salah al-Din Street. Many were reportedly killed or wounded.
The health ministry in Gaza said in its most recent update that the death toll from Israeli strikes on the Strip had risen to 11,078, including 4,506 children and 4,027 women. More than 27,490 others have been wounded since the start of the war, according to the ministry.
Early in the morning, Israeli troops advanced in Gaza City and reached the vicinity of al-Shifa and Rantisi hospitals. Medical workers and refugees in the two hospitals and several others in northern Gaza were reportedly ordered to evacuate.
The IDF said that its 7th “Hativa Sheva” Armored Brigade raided an outpost and training camp of the Hamas Movement in the northern Gaza Strip the past day, seizing dozens of weapons and killing some 30 fighters.
Israeli troops seized assault rifles, missiles, mortars, drones, maps, communications equipment and other technological equipment from the site, according to the IDF, which also said that the offices of Muhammad Sinwar, the brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, was raided.
In another operation carried out by the 7th Brigade with members of the elite combat engineering Yahalom unit, troops raided a Hamas outpost belonging to the so-called Sabra neighborhood battalion.
Anti-aircraft missile operation and calibration systems, several drones, a loaded rocket launcher, technological equipment and intelligence documents, were found in the outpost, the IDF said.
Separately, the IDF announced that it had struck some 15,000 targets in Gaza since the beginning of the war on October 7, and seized and destroyed some 6,000 weapons, including firearms, rockets, anti-tank missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, explosive devices and ammunition.
The IDF’s heavy bombardment failed to stop rocket fire from Gaza. On November 10, at least two were wounded in the city of Tel Avivi in central Israel as a result of a rocket attack from the Strip which was claimed by Hamas.
Additionally, Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that its fighters had targeted four main battle tanks, two armored bulldozers and one digger of the IDF with rocket-propelled grenades during the day. A group of Israeli troops were also targeted with an armed drone.
It’s worth noting that the IDF admitted losing two more soldiers in Gaza, which raised the number of Israeli troops killed during ground operations there to 37. Hebrew media reported that 250 others have been wounded in the Strip so far. At least 100 of them sustained serious injuries.
Despite the IDF’s continuous advance and recent attacks, Arab media reports indicate that Israel and Hamas are about to reach a prisoner exchange deal. The Movement will reportedly release 100 women and children from around 240 hostages in Gaza while Israel will release Palestinian women and children from its jails. The deal will not apparently include a multi-day ceasefire.
