It’s been only a bit more than two weeks since the Congressional Strategic Posture Commission issued its final report and effectively called for a two-front war, claiming that the further expansion of America’s already massive arsenal of thermonuclear weapons is the only way to accomplish such a feat. The reasoning (although there’s hardly anything reasonable in it) behind such a decision is a simultaneous confrontation with both Russia and China. This includes pouring enormous resources into new weapon systems such as the B-21 “Raider” strategic bomber/missile carrier, Columbia-class SSBN (nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine) and the new LGM-35 “Sentinel” ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) set to replace the atrociously outdated “Minuteman 3”. All three types are in different stages of development and are expected to be fully operational by the early 2030s.
For their part, US lawmakers are wholly unconcerned that the suicidal strategic plan to fight the two other (allied) superpowers at the same time is virtually guaranteed to bankrupt America (provided a hot war with both doesn’t physically destroy it first). This is hardly surprising given that most of the geriatric political establishment in Washington DC is aware they most likely won’t be around to live through the consequences, so they might as well get rich in the process and spend the rest of their days enjoying at the expense of the world’s future. In the best-case scenario, by 2027, interest payments alone are expected to surpass the Pentagon’s entire budget (itself set to double, even though it currently already stands at nearly a trillion dollars). Even if the US military doesn’t face any serious delays in weapon development (and deployment), the modernization will take at least another ten years to complete.
In addition, America’s ability to keep up with the technological advances of its geopolitical adversaries is also falling short, particularly in the development of hypersonic weapons, a field in which Russia has an absolute advantage, despite spending approximately 20-25 times less on its armed forces. The strategic embarrassment this has been causing for over half a decade now even resulted in ludicrous accusations that Russia supposedly “stole” American hypersonic weapons designs. The claim isn’t only deeply illogical, but is also patently false. On the contrary, it’s precisely the US that has been spying on Moscow relentlessly and trying to get Russian scientists to sell their secrets or even recruit them to help their American counterparts struggling with making a functional hypersonic weapon. Such attempts have been futile for the most part, but Washington DC doesn’t have much of a choice.
Apart from the replacement of its increasingly obsolete nuclear triad, the US Congress wants to expand American conventional fighting capabilities and also delegate some of the strategic power projection to its vassals and satellite states. Since it’s written by the same congressmen who sit on the executive boards of various Military Industrial Complex (MIC) giants, the Strategic Posture Commission’s report is effectively the ultimate cheat code on how to get fabulously rich without actually doing anything of value. Officially, the bipartisan panel, composed of six Democrats and six Republicans, is tasked to make an assessment of America’s long-term strategy and recommend possible changes to its posturing. The Strategic Posture Commission accepted the Pentagon’s official projections that the growth of China’s thermonuclear arsenal will reach around 1,500 warheads by 2035.
Still, the Russian arsenal is far more dangerous, as Moscow is currently in possession of approximately 6,000 thermonuclear warheads, many of which are tactical ones, providing the Eurasian giant with an unrivaled capability to wipe out any potential large-scale NATO invasion force in Europe. The panel concluded that the deployment of even more American tactical warheads in both Europe and Asia is “necessary”.
As previously mentioned, it also called for a massive boost in investments into US and NATO conventional military capabilities to prevent the likely (over)reliance on thermonuclear weapons. Some American officials also stated they “worry” that Moscow and Beijing are coordinating their efforts, a “concern” that is particularly laughable given the fact that those same officials have done virtually everything in their power to push Russia and China into an unbeatable Eurasian monolith.
However, it’s important to note that most Americans (especially the young ones) are wholly uninterested in military service and would be decidedly against the reinstitution of the draft. Thanks to years of the so-called “woke” extremist, ultra-liberal policies and ideological brainwashing, those Americans who otherwise would’ve been interested in military service have felt increasingly estranged from armed public institutions such as the military and/or police.
The Pentagon and the government tried to appeal to the so-called “nontraditional” groups that included quite literally anyone but heterosexual men, resulting in a disastrous drop in the general populace’s interest and willingness to serve. The ensuing downward spiral in recruitment has only been exacerbated by everyone’s access to ample war footage from Ukraine and other conflicts. Thus, while the US might want a two-front global war, it’s highly unlikely to have enough soldiers to fight it.

who in their right mind could possibly believe anyone would be victorious in such a major military adventure. it would result in a nuclear exchange for sure, and if anyone thinks that the us and it allies would not be part of the destruction they are deluded ‘big time’, nuclear winter would be upon the planet.

funny enough sadam hussein in iraq was offed for the same reason. the u.s government supported him since the 1980s ( gave him weapons to off his opposition) but as soon as he got off the dollar and started selling his oil and natural resources in euros instead he was offed within 5 to 6 months right after.
