The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on October 26 that its fighter jets struck over 250 targets belonging to the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip over the past day.
The targets included Hamas infrastructure, command centers, tunnels, and rocket launchers, according to the IDF, which alleged that rocket launchers were “placed in the heart of civilian areas that fired toward Israeli territory throughout the war.”
The IDF also said that its naval forces had struck a Hamas surface-to-air missile launch position in the city of Khan Younis.
Separately, the IDF announced that it had struck and killed the head of Hamas’s North Khan Younis rocket array, Hassan al-Abdullah.
According to the IDF, the airstrike was carried out following intelligence information on al-Abdullah’s whereabouts, gathered by the Shin Bet security agency and Military Intelligence Directorate. It added that fighter jets struck and killed several more Hamas members, and destroyed several sites belonging to the movement in the Gaza Strip during the day.
It’s worth noting that the IDF announced in the early morning that its ground forces had carried out a “targeted raid” inside Gaza and attacked several targets of Hamas.
Meanwhile, Palestinian media reported two deadly strikes on residential areas in Khan Younis. The first strike killed at least 30 people, while the second claimed the lives of 16 others.
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said in an update that the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli strikes on the Strip reached 7,028. The figure includes 2,913 children, 1,709 women and 397 elderly. More than 18,482 others have been wounded so far.
Despite the heavy bombardment, Hamas continues to launch attacks from Gaza. Hamas fighters targeted an Israeli helicopter to the east of Bureij refugee camp with a 9K32 Strela-2 man-portable air defense system in the morning. Hebrew media confirmed the attack.
Later, a rocket attack targeted the central Israeli city of Tel Aviv. Several impacts were reported. However, there were no casualties.
A series of rocket and mortar attacks also hit the bases of Mars and the Third Eye as well as the settlements of Nirim, Ashdod and Ashkelon.
On the Israeli side, the death toll remains at 1,405. The casualties include 309 troops and 58 police officers. In addition, at least 5,431 Israelis have been wounded, so far.
The IDF said in a new update that 228 hostages remain in the hands of Hamas and other armed factions in Gaza. However, Hamas spokesman Abu Obaida announced that around 50 of the hostages were killed by Israeli strikes on the Strip.
With regard to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that it had received 12 trucks at the Rafah border crossing from the Egyptian Red Crescent containing food, medicine and medical supplies. A total of 74 trucks have been allowed to enter Gaza since the war began, but no fuel. Overall, the humanitarian situation in the Strip is deteriorating.
According to recent statements by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials, the IDF is still determined to invade Gaza. A recent report by The Wall Street Journal revealed that the ground offensive was delayed to allow the United States to reinforce its bases in the Middle East.
Once the invasion begins, the region will likely experience serious escalation. Israel’s plans to displace more than two millions from Gaza and reoccupy the Strip could lead to a large-scale armed conflict as Iran and its allies will not likely accept this.
hmm… feels like the last video looks kind of “suspect”.
anyway… it clearly shows the unbalance of this fight when compared to the first video.
i still don’t get on what basis idf is targeting individual buildings and sites : military intel? guesses? rumors of a likely hamas presence?
its called indescriminately murdering, ie genocide
collective punishment.against international law. not that “international law” has any credibility left. also — there are credible reports of mass torture in israeli jails.
os líderes terroristas de israel pediram que a população de gaza fosse para o sul. hoje estão bombardeando o sul e matando milhares por semana.
israel isn’t and has never been a democracy. it’s a theocracy from the very begining. jews of the zionist congress refused several countries offers : uganda, a canada region, birobidjan, madagascar… palestine has always been their goal for historical and religious reason.
zionists (especially chaim weismann) promised to uk to force usa to enter ww1. the deal included the creation of mandate palestine under uk control. it was done with the secret sikes picot agreement (1916) and officially with the balfour declaration (1917).
the 1st president of israel chaim weismann openly admit it in his biography “trials and errors”. the french writer “céline” said exactly what weismann says but was blacklisted as antisemite by the same msm under jewish control who pushed isolationist usa in ww1.
the abomination in occupied palestine must be brought to heel and permanently defanged. how long more will humanity tolerate the evil of the chosenite barbarian and the politcal tarts in the “west” that feed and cover for this evil?
we senile coca colonized nazi on demmark like amerikan killing
