Kiev Forces Continue To Bleed In Kupyansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye & Kherson (Videos)

Kiev forces have reportedly sustained heavy human and material losses in the directions of Kupyansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson.

Sergey Zybinsky, a spokesman for the Russian Zapad Group of Forces, announced on September 24 that two German-made Leopard-2 main battle tanks of Kiev forces were destroyed in the Kupyansk direction.

“In the course of combat operations, personnel of the Zapad Group destroyed two Leopard tanks, two 152mm towed howitzers 2A65 Msta-B and a mortar crew in the areas of Stelmakhovka, Krinichki, Peschanoye and Petropavlovka,” the spokesman said.

The group also foiled an attempt to rotate units from the 25th Airborne Brigade close to Berestovoye, according to Zybinsky.

The losses of Kiev forces amounted to a company of infantry, two pickup trucks and one drone, the spokesman said, adding that several airstrikes by the group’s aviation also destroyed temporary bases of the 44th mechanized and 68th jager brigades near Kopanka and Pershotravnevoye.

In the Donetsk direction, the aviation of the Russian Yug Group of Forces struck 23 Ukrainian-controlled areas, destroying three ammunition depots and a drone control post, among other targets, according to the group’s spokesman, Georgy Minesashvili.

“The group’s aircraft struck personnel and military equipment in 23 areas. In the course of the fighting, the enemy lost a US-made M777 howitzer, a UK-made Stormer surface-to-air missile system, two pickup trucks, as well as three ammunition depots, a drone control post and an observation post,” the spokesman said.

Minesashvili also announced that the group’s air defenses intercepted ten Ukrainian drones over Vesyolaya Dolina, Belogorovka and Pervomayskoye.

In addition, the group repelled three attacks by Kiev forces in the outskirts of Maryinka and Avdeyevka, according to the spokesman.

In the Zaporozhye directions, Ukrainian troops were attacked by Russian Ka-52 and Mi-28 attack helicopters, the Russian Defense Ministry told TASS.

“Reconnaissance revealed a buildup and transfer of additional enemy personnel in one of the wooded areas, up to 30 people. The task was set to destroy the identified target with unguided [aerial] missiles. From time to time, along with personnel, we also hit lightly armored vehicles, pickup trucks … and infantry fighting vehicles,” a military pilot, identified by his call name Spartak, told the Russian news agency.

Meanwhile in the Kherson Direction, the Russian Dnepr Group of Forces destroyed a fuel depot and a mortar of Kiev forces, according to a representative of the region’s emergency services.

“As a result of a fire attack by units of the battlegroup Dnepr in the Kherson area, destroyed were a 120mm mortar unit and its ammunition (losses: three Ukrainian servicemen were killed, four incurred injuries of various severity), and a depot of fuel and lubricants,” the official told reporters.

A position of Kiev forces in the island areas, a temporary base and two motor vehicles in the Kakhovka area were also targeted and destroyed, the official added.

In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing four recent strikes against Kiev forces from several directions. One of the strikes was carried out by an attack helicopter, two others with Lancet loitering munitions and the last one with precision-guided glide bombs.

Kiev forces have sustained heavy losses since the start of the Ukrainian counteroffensive more than three months ago. However, they are yet to break through Russian defenses in any direction. With winter approaching, the counteroffensive could end within a few weeks with complete failure.
