The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov declared that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) would continue the counter offensive in the coming winter. According to Kiev, no mud, cold or rains will stop the Ukrainian servicemen.
Bad weather conditions will also complicate any offensive operations of Ukrainian forces equipped by NATO military equipment which is not convenient for large-scaled operations on wide front in muddy Ukrainian steppes. However, the huge losses of the AFU, low morale and fierce resistance of Russian fighters already thwarted Kiev’s plans.
The head of Ukrainian intelligence also admitted that the progress of the counter offensive did not fulfill his expectations, and described the situation in the combat zone as difficult. The defeat of the counter offensive was already admitted by Kiev’s Western patrons, Moscow and Ukrainian fighters, but Mr Budanov and his colleagues are still trying their best to assure the Ukrainian and Western public of their imminent victory.
The reality on the frontlines remains deplorable for the Ukrainian military.
In the Zaporozhie region, the AFU failed to achieve any new victories in recent days. The Ukrainian military stopped any large-scale attacks near Rabotino and Verbovoe located south of Orekhov. Having suffering heavy losses, the AFU failed to break through the main line of the Russian defence in the area. Today, some attacks by smaller Ukrainian assault groups continue near the villages and between them but they do not bring any results. The village of Rabotino is still partially in the gray zone.
Since the exhausted Ukrainian grouping in Rabotino is yet to secure the stronghold in the village, the AFU was forced to send more forces in an attempt to break through the Rabotino-Verbovoe line and attack the Russian flanks. As a result, large Ukrainian forces were destroyed in the area by Russian fire, since the Russian military is in control of the dominant heights in the area.
The absence of Ukrainian advance leads to the exhaustion of the strategic Ukrainian reserves and depletion of the arsenal of the heavy military equipment provided by the West.

The frontlines also remain almost unchanged in the area of Velikaya Novoselka in the south of the DPR. Ukrainian advance was stuck in the Urozhainoe-Staromayorskoe area. The ongoing attempts of the AFU to straighten the front lines and break through Russian defences in the area of Novodonetskoe-Novomayorskoe also failed. The Russian military is in still in the full control of the villages. During the week of massive attacks in the area, several Ukrainian servicemen managed to reach some private houses on the outskirts and hide in their basements, where they were destroyed by Russian artillery fire.
In their turn, Russian forces counter attacked on the western flank and forced the AFU to retreat from their near Priyutnoe. Clashes continue a few kilometers north of the village.

Military operations of the AFU in the Zaporozhie region:
The AFU have recently increased their offensive operations on the Donetsk frontlines. After some Russian advance was reported in Mariinka, the AFU sent reinforcement to the area of Avdeevka. As a result of their recent attack, Ukrainian forces managed to advance near Opytne and reach the outskirts of the village. However, the Russian military counterattacked and pulled the AFU out from the area. As a result, the Ukrainian military is in control of several more positions to the north of Opytne but they are unlikely to develop their offensive in this heavily fortified area. The escalation on the outskirts of Donetsk is mainly aimed at distracting the Russian military from other battlefields.

The situation remains tense in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) region, where the AFU have recently achieved some tactical gains to the south of the city. After four months of Ukrainian offensive in the area, battles are still ongoing along the Klescheevka-Andreevka-Kurdymovka line.
The AFU again entered Klescheevka. Heavy battles continue in the center of the village. The village of Kurdymovka is still under the full Russian control. Meanwhile, the front is less stable near Andreevka. As a result of the another counterattack Russian forces took back control of some military positions west of the settlement.

The Russian military continues offensive on the Svatovo-Kupyansk line in the northern Donbass. The AFU were forced to transfer reinforcement to the Kupyansk area. As a result, the Russian advance was slowed down. Fighting is ongoing near Sinkovka, Petropavlovka and Kislovka. Over the past day, Russian forces reportedly slightly advanced towards the village of Oskol located east of Izyum. Several Ukrainian strongholds were recently captured by the Russian Army.
The summer offensive campaign of the AFU confirmed that Kiev’s plan to cut the entire Russian grouping and advance towards the Sea of Azov was nothing but a wet dream of Zelensky’s regime. While Ukrainian forces are stopped, the Russian Army launches local counterattacks in various areas, including on the southern frontlines. The defending military cannot win a war and Russian forces are expected to launch their large autumn/winter offensive.
čakáme, čo sa bude diať. ruské vojská by mali byť nateraz už skonsolidované a plne pripravené. už aj zálohy ktoré boli povolané by mali byť dostatočne vyškolené a tým pádom plne pripravené na nasadenie do boja. uvidíme. svetu mier!!!
the afu does not “manage” to do anything that the russians don’t allow. it’s that simple. bait, lure, abandon, destroy abandoned positions. reoccupy positions.
