“More than 20 percent of Palmyra’s historical buildings were razed down by the ISIL during its rule in the city,” Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi told journalists on Friday.

The Syrian official noted that over 60 international organization have declared their readiness to assist the reconstruction of Palmyra.

According to al-Barazi, it’s hardly possible to estimate the amount of cash needed for the reconstruction of the ancient city amid the risk of explosions of mines set by ISIS.

We remember, on April 1, the second team of Russian experts equiped with the newest demining equipment arrived Syria in order to assist demine works in Palmyra.
