On April 27, Turkey’s drone manufacturer Baykar Defense unveiled a precision-guided munition with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, dubbed Kemankeş [Turkish for Archer].

The munition, which Baykar Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk Bayraktar referred to as a “mini cruise missile, was showcased on the sideline of the Teknofest 2023 exhibition in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Baykar developed Kemankeş to strike high-value targets far behind enemy lines. The munition is compatible with Bayraktar TB2, TB3 and Akıncı combat drones. When launched from air, the turbojet-powered munition has a maximum effective range of 200 kilometers, an endurance of an hour and a cruising speed of 0,3 Mach. It can carry a payload weighing up to six kilograms.

Kemankeş is equipped with an AI-aided electro-optical targeting system that is made up of a camera with 2-axis stabilization and 36x zoom as well as a laser rangefinder with a range of 2,8 kilometers.

Baykar didn’t clarify when the development of the advanced munition will be complete, or if it will enter service with the Turkish military.

In the last few years, Turkey became one of the world’s key developers and manufacturers of drones and precision-guided munitions.

The Turkish military-industrial complex has been working nonstop to boost the stand-off attack capabilities of its combat drones by developing munitions with longer rangers, most likely to address advanced threats like air defenses, electronic warfare systems and radar stations.

They will probably sell it to ukraine to test it on russians.
If that happens cut turkey of the russian gas supply and
make sure they can no longer steal it from syria and iraq.

They will test it without selling it (just like many other NATO countries).
Turkey have sent to Ukraine, so much weapons already.
And they never had their gas cut off.
Ukraine receives every month, regular Russian payments for the gas transportation.
They still have trading relations.
Ukraine even has their regular supplies of the fuel and oil of Russian origin.

Clubofinfo

the Russians are the main beneficiaries of such tests themselves because, being in a war they can’t afford to lose, they have no choice but to invest in beating every system being used in Ukraine. In the end, it is Russia that will develop entirely new weapons systems specifically for the war while other countries just posture and bark loudly, while hoping Russia isn’t as serious as it really is

The Objective

You are pathetic. Just pray that Russia doesn’t disintegrate because of the war in Ukraine.

sam

NATO will find this AI weapon useful since they seem to lack any other kind of intelligence.

Thoughtful

Evil is stupid yet it also has its own variety of intelligence which is DECEPTION and cunning. Evil has its own reality in the minds of its perpetrators and victims.

Namz

According to the left we should not use the words “artificial intelligence” because it’s offensive for computers. Pretending a bit is always binary is an old fashioned Idea inspired by white supremacy.

Turecko to stále hrá na obe strany. RF odstaví Turecko až vtedy, keď bude považovať Turecko za hrozbu. Uvidíme čo prinesie čas.
