On January 29, the Iranian Ministry of Defense said that its air defense had repelled a drone attack on what it called a “military workshop” in the central Iranian city of Isfahan.
The ministry made the announcement after reports of an explosion at one of the city’s defense industry complexes, some 440 kilometers to the south of Tehran, in the late hours of January 28.
Deputy head of security of Isfahan Mohammad Reza Jan-Nesari told the semi-official Fars News Agency that an “explosion occurred in one of the military centers affiliated to the MoD.” The official said the explosion left some damage, “but fortunately there were no casualties.”
In its statement, the MoD said that the complex was attacked with “small drones”, but its air defenses successfully repelled the attack.
“One of the drones was downed by the complex’s air defense fire, while the other two were caught in its defensive traps and exploded,” the statement reads.
The ministry noted that the unsuccessful attack did not cause any loss of life and only led to minor damage to the roof of a workshop. The complex, it added, continues its ordinary operations following the attack.
Reacting to the blast in Isfahan, the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics wrote in the statement:
“The failed attack happened at night of January 28, 2023 at around 23:30 local time, but the strike by the micro-drones were successfully repelled due to the forces’ vigilance and defensive preparations. The failed strike caused no casualties and the roof of the workshop damaged slightly, that by God’s grace could not cause any disruption in the equipment and tasks of the facility. The ministry assures the noble people of Iran that the performances of the centers to improve might, authority and security of the Islamic country will continue speedily and seriously, and that the blind acts will not get in the way of the country’s progress.”
Separately, Iran’s state TV said a fire broke out at an oil refinery in an industrial zone near the northwestern city of Tabriz. It said the cause was not yet known. Tabriz is located some 520 kilometers to the northwest of Tehran.
State TV also said the magnitude 5.9 earthquake killed three people and injured 816 others in rural areas in West Azerbaijan province, damaging buildings in many villages.
Last year, six quadcopter suicide drones attacked Mahidasht Air Base in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah. Another drone attack targeted the highly-secretive Parchin military complex near Tehran, killing an engineer. Israel was allegedly behind both attacks.
Over the last few years, the Israeli intelligence were blamed for several attacks that targeted key military and nuclear facilities across Iran. Tel Aviv has been working nonstop to sabotage the ongoing American-Iran talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal as well as to prevent Tehran from further developing its conventional military capabilities.
According to ISWNEWS.COM, some reports on explosions in the Iranian cities of Rasht, Hamadan and Karaj as well as strikes in the military and industrial regions of the cities are unfounded.
Based on the history of the intelligence-security warfare between Israel and Iran, it seems to be possible that the mentioned attacks and sabotages were implemented by elements of the Israeli regime inside Iran. Its worth mentioning that the Israeli media outlets alleged that the recent attacks by Palestinian groups in al-Quds and other regions of the occupied territories of Palestine were aided and abetted by Iran.
The drone attack on Isfahan military complex could lead to a military escalation in the Middle East. Tehran will likely retaliate once the side responsible for the attack is identified.
Very successful attack.
Same fate for everyone who support terrorists & ruzzian nazis.
“mUh VeRy SUCKcEssFuL aTtAcK” 🤡
Satellite photos of the warehouse are already out – no damages sustained, you ignorant faggot.

In regard to Isfahan, around midnight at least 3 explosions were heard in the “Imam Khomeini” ave., northeastern Isfahan. 2 small explosions and one bigger than the two. The larger explosion looks like something like a hand grenade.
A few notes: The building, belonging to one of subsidiaries of the MoD is located in a busy street which is the main center of metalworking and machinist workshops of the city. It’s a workshop complex that manufactures metal parts (the actual ammunition manufacturing is well out of the city). The building which came under attack is located immediately near the busy street (signs of other private-owned workshops and shops are visible in the videos).
TBC…
2)
As I said, the manufacturing plant (several of) are located outside the city. A successful attack on any of them could theoretically result in total annihilation of the plant, but they are very well protected and there are air defence rings around Isfahan.
This complex is inside the city, meaning less air defence protection IF the attack originates from the city itself.
The building has large windows and doors which provide a better entry point for any such attack, but the only the side that is visible from the street came under attack. Why? Food for thought.

3)
The size of the explosion and the target suggests usage of small quad-copter drones with about less than 500gr of explosives. Tiny drones are hard to detect and shoot down by air defence rings, though the complex’s defence worked well. The only real explosion happened when the drone was caught in the protective netting.
IMO, it was a PR stunt done in an area within population’s eyes solely to generate headlines and devoid of any military, strategic or even tactical value. At this point I cannot say who was behind it. Was it Israel to deflect attention from its own problems? Was it an MI6/CIA plot using MeK to insinuate the unrests are still alive? Or was it Ukraine (ok, I’ll try to be serious next time!)
By the way, did you see the headlines like “Ukraine says Iran can’t send any more drones to Russia”?

About the fire in the industrial area around tabriz, it’s a company that produces automotive motor oil. There was no report of explosions and the fire was extinguished after 2 hours. Remember, there was an earthquake in that area.
I doubt if this one was the result of an attack.
But, there’s no doubt that there was at least an attack (Isfahan) possibly from a 500m radius (there’s a complete footage taken from around a 200m distance, apparently by the culprits). A possible outcome would be more restrictions on flying quadcopters (which are very popular). I hope they work more on regulations and less on restrictions, At least they ought to arm every single police station and government building with jammers to disable commercial drones.
END.
Correction: The area is northwestern Isfahan.
Who do you believe attacked the buildings?
The earthquake could be caused by the explosion of an underground missile warehouse
Unfortunately, the future of Israel is like that of Armenia. Armenia used to get support from Iran and Israel used to get support from Azerbaijan but this is not the case now.
Since Bibi was returned to power, Iran has been constantly warned to ensure that its air defence are on alert 24/7, they have no excuse to be lax in this regard, they know an attack is coming
Iran is very large and powerful. Two years ago one of the chief engineers of Iran’s nuclear program was killed in an attack…………. 10 days later the Mossad’s Chief operative, a general, was in his car stoped at an intersection in Tel Aviv, a car passed from which machine guns fired and he died.
correct: was in his car stopped
Determine the people involved and make sure to do to them what the Israelis do…that tends to deter repeaters.
The Israelis and their puppets are so pathetic. They have spent thousands of tons of jet fuel during recent drills to scare Iran but all they can really do is attack with tiny, useless quadcopters. My guess is Iran will see this as weakness and will eventually acquire nuclear capacity.
Izrael is very poor and little for IRAN.
