The National Police of Ukraine reported that 10 people were killed and 60 others were injured as a result of the major attacks on Ukrainian cities on the morning of October 10. One of the victims was the head of the Department of Cyber Security of Ukraine, Police Colonel Yuriy Zaskoka. His death was also reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the report, Zaskoka was driving own car along Shevchenko Boulevard at the time when a Russian cruise missile hit there. The National Police of Ukraine did not provide any details, but it was report that the cyber police officer was in the “epicenter of the explosion.”
During the morning attack in the Shevchenko district of Kiev, an employee of the Cyber Police Department, Colonel Yuri Zaskoka, was killed, – the National Police channel in Telegram reads.
It is known that Zaskoka held the position of head of the department for the protection of critical infrastructure. The Cyber Police is mainly aimed at combating “Russian propaganda”, and also identifies civilians who collaborated with the Russian military. They are engaged in cyber attacks on the Russian segment of the Internet. The department deals with spam attacks on Russian media accounts, and also oversees the work of Internet bots.
Some Ukrainian sources report that many special service employees were killed during the attack on the SBU in Kiev, complaining that the Ukrainian authorities did not prevent the employees of the upcoming attacks. These reports are yet to be confirmed. However, it is obvious that the Russian military reached the goal of today’s attacks all around Ukraine.
