Three new attacks have targeted Syrian government troops in the southern governorate of Daraa, with two of them resulting in casualties.

On September 12, a vehicle carrying officers from the Military Intelligence Directorate was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) as it was passing near the town of Muzayrib in the western countryside of Daraa.

Four intelligence officers were wounded as a result of the IED attack. One of the wounded was pronounced dead on the very next day.

Later on the same day, an IED exploded at a checkpoint of Air Force Intelligence Directorate located near the town of Elnaymah in the eastern Daraa countryside. No casualties were reported, however.

On September 13, a shooting attack targeted a bus carrying soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army in the town of Nawa in the western countryside of Daraa. Four soldiers were lightly wounded as a result of the attack.

No side has claimed responsibility for any of the three attacks, yet. The attacks may have been carried out by ISIS cells in Daraa. The terrorists intensified their operations in the recent weeks to avenge there of their top leaders who were recently eliminated by the Syrian military and intelligence.

The attacks highlight the instable situation in Daraa, where many radicals are still enjoying much freedom and weapons are easy to obtain. Syrian government forces have been making much efforts to secure and stabilize the governorate. This will, however, need tighter security measures and more time.
