The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a strike on a target of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in an unnamed country during their recent operation in the Gaza Strip earlier this month, Chief of General Staff of the IDF Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi revealed on August 18.

“Ten days ago, the IDF struck with great precision Tayseer Jabari, who is an arch-terrorist,” Kohavi said at a Federation of Local Authorities conference, referring to the northern Gaza commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, killed during the opening strikes of Operation Breaking Dawn.

“And at the same time [the IDF] carried out a wave of arrests in [the West Bank], and at the same time attacked a third country, and carried out defense along the rest of the country’s borders,” the commander added.

Kohavi did not name the “third country” that was hit during Operation Breaking Dawn between August 5 and 8, or identify the nature of the PIJ target that was present there.

The Hebrew media said that the country in question may be Yemen. On August 7, the al-Arabiya channel reported a blast at a military camp of the Iran-allied Houthis (Ansar Allah) in the capital, Sanaa. Back then, the news channel alleged that the blast killed six Iranian and Lebanese military advisers as well as dozens of Houthi fighters who were working on ballistic missiles.

These assumptions are likely false as al-Arabiya’s report has not been verified yet. Moreover, the PIJ has no reason to be active in Houthi-held parts of Yemen, which are tightly besieged by the Saudi-led coalition.

It is more likely that Israel attacked some target of the PIJ in Syria, where the Palestinian faction is known to be active and present.

Israel attacked PIJ targets in Syria in the past. On 12 November 2019, an Israel strike targeted the house of PIJ senior leader Akram al-Ajouri in the Syrian capital, Damascus. Al-Ajouri survived the assassination attempt. However, his son was killed. Later on 23 February 2020, a series of Israeli airstrikes targeted positions of the faction in the southern outskirts of Damascus.

No Israeli attacks on Syria were reported during Operation Breaking Dawn. However, the IDF is known to conduct covert attacks on Syria from time to time.

Israel have been growing frustrated with the PIJ activities in the West Bank and Jerusalem. While Operation Breaking Dawn inflicted some serious losses on the faction’s military wing in Gaza, it failed to crop its influence.

When does the “Talmudic Jihad” against white people get punished?

It’s quite transparent at this point: domestically, strikes against Syrian targets do not bolster Lapid’s administration, which has desperately sought a “win” in public opinion after ordering an economically destructive “lockdown” in the Negev region in response to a few PIJ rockets.

But tall tales about Israel striking in Yemen make the current Zionist leadership appear competent and in control to their constituents, which they are most certainly not. If this were intended for anything but domestic consumption, it would be blasted on the front page of the Jerusalem Post and the Saudi-funded Iran International.

Israel is not invulnerable, and its existence is not guaranteed.
