Mobilization offers many more problems: logistical, economical, political… you can’t just throw badly trained civilians en masse to storm fortified areas. It’s easier for ukros because they defend (mostly). Russia should have enacted partial mobilization before the war started, with these second rate units to cover already occupied areas and to keep the momentum. Now it’s a bit too late…
Mobilised troops are for defending Russia, so the majority of professional troops can be sent outside the border…

About the “heavy looses” on the crossing of the river, I got information from the front, while Russians tried to cross the river they were hit by artillery, after that Ukrainians attacked and took the positions and Russian artillery hit them. In total there were around 30 armored vehicles lost 10 Russian and about 20 Ukrainian, not many soldiers died on either side. People forget how fast humans can run, while you can’t move a truck or armored vehicle/tank you can run really fast. For a war where 500 000 – 1 000 000 men shoot at each other that is nothing. Americans lost around 12 000 choppers in Vietnam, there is footage of Ukrainian equipment being hit in the same manner every day but the looses not great as well, big losses come when there is a large gathering of infantry and its hit with artillery or when infantry fights each other.
