On December 31, four 107 mm rockets exploded on the territory of a U.S. military base in the province of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria. According to the local media, two more rockets failed be launched during the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack so far. U.S. military officials are yet to comment on the issue. No casualties or material damage were reported. The investigation of the attack was launched.
The Syrian Democratic Forces reported that the launchers of Iranian shells were discovered in the desert of Deir ez-Zor. The launch site was located near the Al-Omar oil field.
