ISIS Claimed Responsibility For Series Of Attacks Against Taliban In Afghanistan (Video)

ISIS has claimed responsibility for a series of terrorist attacks in Afghanistan.

On September 22, at least three people, including two Taliban fighters, were killed in an armed attack in the city of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province.

“Unfortunately, three persons were martyred in the armed attack, of which two were security forces and one civilian,” the Taliban’s provincial culture and information director Hanif Nangarhari said.

Unidentified gunmen attacked the police district number seven of the city in the morning. The local officials claimed that an investigation was underway.

It was the last in a series of terrorist attacks in the area in less than a week.

According to the terrorist group, 14 Taliban fighters were killed or injured during the roadside explosions of the improvised explosive devises (IEDs) in Jalalabad.

Official data on the victims is more modest. According to the official claims, only six people were killed in four explosions, dozens more were injured.

The ISIS has officially claimed that the attacks had targeted Taliban fighters.

On their part, the Taliban’s interim government continues to assure Afghan citizens and the international community that there is no threat of ISIS rise in Afghanistan, claiming that the attacks in Jalalabad would be “the last” to be committed by the terrorist group on the Afghan soil.

The Nangarhar province is known to be the main area of ISIS activity in the country. The recent attacks were the first to take place in Afghanistan since the withdrawal of U.S. troops, despite the attacks in Kabul airport.
