A large explosion hit a training camp of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the Tal Sandal area, near Ram Hamadan village north of the city of Idlib.
According to preliminary data, at least 14 militants were killed, 15 others were injured as a result of the explosion.
The reason of the explosion remains unknown.
It is believed to be caused by the explosion of an artillery shell in unknown circumstances. A mistake committed during military drills in the camp could cause the explosion.
According to London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an armed drone of the International Coalition was flying over the region at the time of the explosion.
A strike of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation may also be behind the explosion. Earlier on August 24, Russian warplanes targeted militant positions in western Idlib countryside for the sixth day in a row.
