On August 22, the Saudi-led coalition announced that it had intercepted and shot down a suicide drone that was launched from Yemen by the Houthis (Ansar Allah).

In a statement released by the Saudi Press Agency, the coalition claimed that the drone was on its way to attack the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.

“We take operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects from hostile attempts,” the statement reads.

Usually, suicide drones launched by the Houthis are intercepted by fighter jets of the Royal Saudi Air Force with air-to-air missiles over Yemen before they could enter Saudi airspace.

This was the third drone attack to be foiled by the Saudi-led coalition in the last ten days. The first attack took place on August 13, while the second was on August 19. Moreover, the coalition intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen by the Houthis on August 15.

The Houthis have not commented on the Saudi-led coalition’s claims, yet. The group keeps some of its attack on the Kingdom a secret, or announces them days later.

A day earlier, a minister in the Saudi-backed Yemeni government alleged that an Iranian military advisor who was supporting the Houthis was killed in a Saudi-led coalition airstrike on Ma’rib in central Yemen. The drone attack may have been a response to the incident.

“saudi press agency”

Hilarious. Surely well known for their unbiased reporting. State run propaganda garbage from a clan of perverts and deviants.

What happened to the imbecile “saudi princeling” arrested in Lebanon for importing tonnes of capatagon?
