ISIS cells have ambushed a unit of the Syrian Army in the area between Sukhna and Deir Ezzor, pro-Kurdish sources insist.

Over the past months, the situation in the central Syrian desert escalated as a result of the increase in ISIS attacks on government forces and locals living in the government-controlled areas. These attacks faced a powerful response from the Syrian Army and its allies that carried out a series of anti-ISIS raids in the desert. However, the terrorist threat has not been fully contained yet.
