In wiki Cassard-class is “frigate” not destroyer.
Displacement:
4,500 tons, 5,000 full load…
Old stuff since not multi-role…one still in use.

I read that only 2 where built, launched in 1985 and 88.
Indeed not the latest design. This one probably ready to be retired. :)

I am so happy that Russia didn’t buy those 2 huge “Mistral” bathtubs.
That has saved so much money to the navy and gave plenty of new ships, projects to build to Russian shipyards instead.

Besides being more than compensated for the broken Mistral contract.
“Russia also kept 150,000 pages of technical documents, which may inform the design of two planned domestic Priboy (Surf)-class amphibious carriers. If funding comes through, these new carriers, also named, Sevastopol and Vladivostok, may be laid down in 2020 and 2022.”
