On February 2, the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) attacked Syrian Arab Army (SAA) forces in Aleppo and Idlib with several anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
In the southwestern Aleppo countryside, the group’s militants destroyed two trucks in the town of Khan Tuman and an ATGM launcher in the town Qal’ajiyah. A second position in the district of al-Rashidin 5 in western Aleppo was also targeted.
Meanwhile, in the southeastern Idlib countryside the NFL destroyed what appears to be T-72 battle tank of the army near the town of Dadikh. The army captured the town in the early morning.
The NFL intensified its ATGM strikes in the last few days to support al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and slow down the SAA’s advance in southwest Aleppo and southeast Idlib.
According to reports, the group is receiving fresh shipments of ATGMs, including U.S.-made TOWs, from Turkey. These claims remain unverified.
