On November 27, a new round of clashes between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed militants erupted in the northern Raqqa countryside.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the clashes took place in the vicinity of the village of Abduki, south of the border town of Tell Abyad.

The Turkish military also fired at least six mortar rounds from the Turkish side of the border at the outskirt of the SDF-held village of Shalabiyah.

Last week, the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) launched an attack on the key town of Ain Issa in northern Raqqa. Despite initial losses, the SDF managed to repel the attack within 24 hours with support from the Syrian Arab Army.

These renewed clashes in northern Raqqa indicate that the region could witness a new Turkish-led attack soon. The SNA appears to be interested in Ain Isaa and the strategic M4 highway.
