An ISIS attack on the Kirkush military base near the town of Balad Ruz in the Iraqi province of Diyala resulted in killing of 6 soldiers and injuring of 15 others, according to media reports.
Five ISIS militants attacked the base on Monday, according to the reports.
“Two militants were wearing explosive devices and carried out suicide bomb attacks, killing six people,” the New Arab quoted Falah al-Tamimi, a spokesperson for the Diyala police force, as saying.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the authorities believe that the attackers were members of ISIS.
