On October 3, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq released a video showing two Russians – Roman Zabolotniy and Grigory Surkanov – that ISIS captured in central Syria in late September. Amaq argued that they were Russian soldiers. However, the victims appeared to be volunteers supporting the Syrian government, according to the Russian media.
